Been a minute since saying howdy! Hope 2017 was great for ya... 2018 rules already!!!
Will this work with the cricket version it's on 5.1?

I used this on my son's phone a long time ago, and it worked. It was a Cricket phone.
However, as always use caution!

BTW, you cannot unroot the phone, unless you flash the stock ROM on it.

I just registered on this page, just to thank you for the help you have provided me to create this thread. I had tried to make root with the software called: LG One Click root. And my phone goes brick. When I tried to turn it on, it didn't go from the Boost Mobile logo, there it would stay forever.
Also, I was very difficult to put the phone in download mode: I had to try several times, and remove the battery and put it back, etc... The phone did not want to get into download mode after I try to do root with the software mentioned above. But thanks to you (6th_Hokage) My phone did recover its normal operation, and I didn't lost any data (photo, music, etc.).

Well did the video say the exact firmware number? Cause one update could block off the exploit

WRITE = FAIL....

Device seems to be blocking the pushing of files. Maybe this exploit was patched for G4 :/
