I am (From Turkey) as well outside EU but strict VAT obligations rule here for mobile/electronics devices so that people do not prefer to buy these from foregin countries but from local distributors. Make sure you will not have a surprise

Hi VBN, when you said Mustafa you meant The Mustafa at Little India? If yes, will it be a local set? I am thinking of getting one but not from telco but I want the SG Maps with navigation in the phone. Possible with imported non-telco sets?

we don't know how HTC is pricing their maps so it's hard to say. It could be the 1st map that u use could be free, so maybe if u buy overseas, u can still download and activate the SG maps... but we need more info on this first..

I msg starhub on facebook, and they replied that they will launch it in mid nov.
Starhub road show last weekend @ Jurong point was selling desire @ SG$98 with 2year power value 300 plan (no need trade in), they sure are clearing stock!

According to Today's, DHD will come with a voucher for TBT service for 1 country. Hopefully it is true.

on page 67 of the Breaking News thread, got 1 fella say it comes with 3 free maps, then another fella say all maps are free at launch but if u want turn by turn and other stuff, u gota pay. so still have conflicting info..

My impression is the voucher is a SG promotion. Cos with Desire Z, there is no such voucher and the premium charges apply.

I past by mobile square @ far east last weekend, they said they have ordered the handset and should be arriving early Nov.

I called up Funan AAA's and they said they are taking pre-orders for the DHD at $888.
Will go down later to make my pre-order. Can't wait because currently suffering in bootcamp with Nokia for the past two weeks..

$799 is cheap since $888 is the RRP. But i think shouldn't buy at RRP price cos that is the ceiling and sure to find places that will sell lower than that..

This $ represents Singapore Dollars I guess, right? If so, really reasonable prices. Asia rulez...
