[DEV] Acessing IR interface

I cant wait for the next release. i'd be completely happy with the functionality it has right now (adding the obviously missing features like deleting ).
the one thing i found kind of annoying was that it was pretty easy to accidentally press one button when setting up a remote. but that had also to do with the limited controls you had in this version i think.

as for the name, well... IRemote is beyond question i guess!? :silly:
how about: Premote - the premium remote app....

i think that sounds like pre-mote what about FCKUSIR - fully customizable keybased univeral sony infrared remote

im quite happy with my tablet S, but the remote control app is pissing me off!
I really miss a lot of features i had with my universal remote control (Philips STR9320), like macro functionality, creating a list of favorite TV stations with their station logo as button, changing button size and position,...
It is good to see that somebody started to make a better app !

einschnaehkeee : What is the actual status of your remote control app? Is a developer/beta version available to participate in the testing?
I'd be very interested to work with your app, because the original one from sony is really a pain in the butt.

at least the macro feature has been added by sony in the recent update (4.0.3 R5) which is only available for US users (and the ones who changed the region code .... :laugh

Just read the whole thread, and I think what you are doing is great! I got here looking for a solution to the macro issue with Sony's app, or looking if it was possible to interact with the IR module of the Tablet S (I do Java for a living, but never tried to code for Android before).

Thankfully I found your thread! Can I please be part of the testing team? I would love to take your baby for a ride! And I really think you should charge for it when it's done, even something symbolical so people can tangibly thank you for your hard work.

Is anyone still reading this thread? Any chance I can get an APK? My stock app isn't working and I really don't want to Factory Reset it until I have exhausted all options.... not to mention I have the original S1 which apparently cannot be Rooted?! - scratch that CAN be rooted S.onyTablet.S v6.4 [ALLinONE] (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1515720)
