What do you think of a widget? +1 for advanced notification. Wish I had the time.

Already works in my CM7 builds, Quarx just needs to port the small framework patch to also make it work in CM10. The app itself is ready for it.

Wow that's great...will mention this in Quarx thread...and one thing more...when wake with Vol rocker is enabled in display the Vol rocker no longer works as long as the locked screen is showing...any way to keep both working at the same time because i don't like to use the awkward power button to wake the device

Think it also needs to be changed in Quarx's repo. Maybe best in CM itself. (long-press skip music will also not work prop..)

Actually i think pretty much nothing works while you are on the visible lock screen...no volume change, no track change, its pretty much the power button and the screen-lock/notification that works...much of which is actually intended...but i think these controls should be enabled for easy access when in lock screen whether the screen is dark or litup...

Dang, 10 days without internet and I've missed all the fun...
Great design work so far guys; keep it up!

I personally do not like white backgrounds and would rather go black or even semi-transparent, but since this is JB/Holo style oriented, I understand this choice.

So 2 quick remarks:

1- I do agree with Leopard that the perspective on the 3D logo [1st pic] seems off. not as much the two vertical sides, but the fact that we see the top and that gradded scale [ruler like lines under the selection needle - sorr hard to explain] seems to be off and coming at us perfectly perpendicular to the screen. no biggie, but to me it seems obvious that there is something glitchy with 3D perspective.

2- I do agree with all of Maniac's suggestion on ON/OFF buttons and changes in the sub-menu buttons/choices

One more [since Maniac seems to follow this thread - and although I would have to read Maniac's Github commits again coz I know he's still fiddling with all this...]: the stations with RDS descriptions are not showing the MHz after the numbers like before; it seems to look a little strange... I know that we can edit them, but kind of look non consistant after a full scan [see screenshots 2 and 3 taken with my CM7 theme from 2 weeks ago; and yes I also already did not like the all red look of the FM radio and yes I quickly put that together at that time and it is still a work in progress..]

Anyhow, thanks again Maniac for all your work on this and to you all; keep on getting those pixels together - nice community projet [I'll see if I can find time to contribute soon]; we need more of those.

If we talk about illustrations - i do agree with you and Leopard.

BUT! We talking about icon. Size of icon on defy screen is 72 pixels. If i make little perspective correction, as you want, left and right edges of icon will be dirty, blurry and not pixel perfect.

When i create icon, i try to make basic shape most clearly as it posible. You can compare 2 icons: and see this your own eyes.

Hi again! Let's see. Hmm...I think the best ideea is to decrease de upper face (with a button) so the front face will be as you want and the icon will look like the icons from Google Guide (with an narrow upper face). In this case yoy could keep the vertical sides perfectly vertical. What do you think?

P.S. I'm a MD not a Web Designer but my hobby is drawing and design. All I want is to see this icon well made.

I think the old station name / frequency style made more sense than the new station name / RDS name + radio text + frequency style, though, especially given that radio text can be pretty long and as station name will most likely match the RDS name anyway. The new version may be more fancy, but is IMHO less usable than before, as there's less space now.
What about station name + frequency on one line and RT on the second if RT is available and station name and frequency on separate lines otherwise?

I also spotted some more problems in the new notification code (you broke headset button recognition, the notification clicks are needlessly routed via the media button receiver instead of directly calling into the service, and query results are thrown away when updating the notification instead of using them), I'll fix them up when I'm back home.

Not all Google icons has narrow upper face. If object flat, or near that, upper face is narrow. If object has volume on z-demention, we should see wider upper face.
Look at contacts icon. I get it like base for my FM radio.

That was some quick coding. I wanted to consult you before, but you weren't in #motomagic Nothing's final. Although if you're saying that notification buttons were useless, I would humbly disagree. About the rds text and frequency stuff, I'm trying to enable ticker text for rds in notification. You don't have to merge it in if you think the code isn't ready.

There is constructive criticism and negative criticism. Maybe you mean well, But I don't feel like contributing anymore to this or any other defy project. I will ask admins to close this thread.

When I started coding mbm, I just wanted to learn programming. I think I have learned enough. I guess I'll just find a new hobby. I have to bow out now. So long guys.
