[DEV] CyanogenMod for the Sony Xperia Z5

Hey everyone!

This is a developer thread and will be a place where devs group up to work on specific projects related to CM for the entire Z5 series (Z5C, Z5, Z5P).

• Z5 Compact - CM 13
• Z5 - CM13
• Z5 Premium - CM13

Often developer threads end up in a mess without some rules set, so please keep those rules below in mind:


Things that you should not post here :

• Non-development related stuff
• ETAs
• Inappropriate questions
• Trolling
• Being a rat (steal stuff and pretend it's yours)

Things you should post here:

• Everything helpfull for the development
• Logs
• patches/fixes

Please do not post some dev related stuff if you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about!

To summarise what doesn't work:

AOSP_L_kitakami_sumire:
Not working - sd card, camera.

AOSP_M_kitakami_sumire:
Not working - mobile network, sd card, camera, gapps.

When I tried to build it with the guide given, I ran into an issue saying "fatal error: pm-service.h: No such file or directory". Someone else had this issue too, and it was suggested to use this patch: https://android-review.googlesource.com/#/c/180351/. Once I did that, the build succeeded. I have not yet tested it out.

I knew that the source was out there provided by Sony but never bothered to take a closer look

After some fixes and getting the aosp_defconfig working. Will push to git soon

Ok recovery has successfully compiled! I'll test it tomorrow, since I got access to the device then.

Qeustion : Does anyone know if the kernel uses dt v1 v2 or v3?

Great work I'm working on a 5.1.1 aosp build myself, I'd be interested to see how 6.0 performs on here.

Hey, the binaries are used for AOSP afaik. So I can't help you there

CM recovery booted up which means the kernel is finally working!

My friend recently bought a Z5 (E6653) and just gave me permission to work on CyanogenMod on it. However, please don't get too exited, this could take some time since I don't actually own the device.
