U have to extract from the rar archive the build.prop file and then, with ES File Explorer copy that file in /system/

I just loaded 2.5.5 and I just made a call that worked just fine, JVT modem.
only thing I did extra after loading it I added the t-9 dialer with launcher from build 7 of teamhacksung (build 7 didn't have t-9 dialer and someone provided a flashable zip with launcher and t-9 enhancement only) I don't know if that makes a difference

ok let's get this out in the open: onecosmic abandoned his rom and the support thereof right after beta 2.
In fact, his rom and his thread was hijacked by any goodoane, barome and several others that, with all due respect for the effort, should have started their own thread thank you very much.

so this thread is not for the support of onecosmic's rom - unless you stick with the beta 2 he came up with, which is not even available anymore for download!

this thread is currently a free-for-all, which is fine as long as you realize that this is the case.

considering the weirdness that is this thread, your claim sounds a bit funny

yeah, its his own fault! we need updates every second day, the most!!!! better every day!!!! over 14days without update, and then this, its unacceptable!!!!

Well, opinion from me, its THE best release of ICS in I9000's history

And mind, i've been hanging since old alphas....

Go for it. Nothing's there to hold you back. It's full of Pros. No con as compared to other releases. For now

well, it's apparently still the kernel and basic 'beta 2' rom he made, but with modifications added by others afterwards.

it works with much the same things missing as CM9 but that one is being worked on and things are getting fixed, added every couple of days and systematically tested by a team of people.
This one is faster then CM9 (don't have proof, but it feels faster) and has a fugumod kernel and all around works fine. However, CM9 is getting faster, too.

but a number of things are still missing and/or not working perfectly yet and it doesn't seem that a real developer is working on it anymore, we haven't heard from onecosmic for several weeks so it looks like it pretty much died.
So if you're happy with how it works as it is, then it's fine, but at this point we don't know if it will every e.g. have video recording unless the fix that Teamhacksung comes up with would also work on this build, who knows, or perhaps onecosmic comes back, he was really on a roll right up to the moment he just dropped off

pls do not update from market, especially for google applications - I turn the auto-update off everytime I load a new build.

we have to be careful what we load on this rom, many applications are not build to take into account this operating system version or kernel

now the more important question: what happened to onecosmic?
right after he loaded beta 2 (with some bugs like the dpi) he disappears and (with all due respect for the effort) the thread got hijacked by goodoane and that was all she wrote ...

it's not supposed to go like that, so what happened? he was grounded, moved away, got married, finally realized that he should get out and get a life? It's just weird.

Onecosmic is dealing with some things at home and is working on some stuff behind the scenes for beta 3. I am still handling the google code page like I always have been,and the builds labeled 2.5.x are mine based on beta 2. 2.5.5 is not from me but is from another irc user, it semi works most of the time. Beta 3 should be fixing all of the usb issues and a few other things and should be expected sometime in the next week.

This thread was not abandoned, goodoane simply made a version which fixes a few things,much as I have with 2.5.1. Onecosmic has been busy with some real life stuff and will be back soon.

all ics build are by my testing the same speed, with very small differencies. But when you use MyICS and its SmartassV2 governor, you can experience almost lagless stock launcher.
By my opinion(mainly about features, support, bugs) yes, teamhacksungs build is the most developed one!

flash the kernel first and then the rom.. or you can flash cm7 first and then the ics rom

im already coming from cm7 and have beta2 running currently. still getting that when i try to install the 2.5.5 from recovery.
