I have 2 ideas/ requests:

1. An app which can be used to send text messages from a WP7 device from PC. Like http://www.efficasoft.com/mobileexpress/index.html

2. An app which includes tiles to:
- turn the screen off
- change profiles
- toggle wifi on/ off without going in detailed settings
- increase/ decrease brightness
- increase/ decrease volume ... etc.

I hope a developer find these interesting :)

How about:
1. Phone ring profiles, so if you set it to say, work mode, it'll vibrate but be silent, and if you set it to home, it'll ring and vibrate, and if you set it to sleep, it'll be completely silent ?
2. Application to change WP7 notification. I figure It'd be something for PC to push an xap
3. Swipe right notifications. Right now, the left screen is the tile screen, and the right screen is the application list. How about making the left screen for notifications, then the middle for tiles, and the right applications ?
4. Battery percentage
5. Something that shows you what applications are new. I like to go into market and install a bunch of apps, but after that I don't remember what I've installed.
6. App to keep wifi alive even when screen is off

Larger Font Size - File Manager - MS Outlook

Increase Font Size: I have been unable to find a way to increase the font in WinPhone 7.5. An app to do so will be very useful to those visually challenged.

File Manager: Windows CE from the beginning through V6.5xx had the normal file manager as found on Windows PCs. Where is a version for WinPhone7? The Zune interface does not always cut it.

Syncing with Outlook on the PC: I miss editing my phone contacts from my PC.

Proximity Sensor

I've read about a number of other HTC Mozart 7 users who are experiencing problems with the Proximity Sensor. Specifically when I make a call the proximity sensor immediately thinks the phone is next to my ear and turns the screen off. It doesn't come back on again even after the other party finishes the call and the only way to end the call from my end is to remove the battery. I gather other devices have suffered the same problem
For the Desire HD on Android XDA user Leppie developed a recalibration app - see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=951858 - source included. Could anyone do the same on Windows Phone 7.5 or greater ?

My request and idea

Hello Xda-Developers,you´re the guys i think who are the most capable developers of wp7-World
my whish, suggestion, question and idea is:an app or alternatively a setting where i can preperare my Wp7 for 1. to act like an usb-wirlessstick for my desktp-pc with the current runnning router and 2. to let it act like as if it´s itself an router, taking it´s connection from 1.the usb-cable 2. the wifi 3.the Dataconnection?(i know that the last point is already done by thetering available atm and that i can use my Omnia as a modem ,but this is not satisfying the way it runs!!!)

Here are my reasons for why i wish the points so how discribed:
1.0:Because atm only by dataconnection of my net,but my housewalls are very thick so i have most times no connection, but router always running with good signal

2.1:Because when it´s connected to pc and the dsl-modem has wifi so that for e.g. my brother or a friend can connect with his netbook

2.2:So for e.g. that if a friend is there i can give him a shorter wifikey and not the routerkey

2.3:Just to complete the app/setting

Last Point: give it a nice livetile

Last but not least it would be nice for all of us Wp7 users

I was thinking of a WIFI Signal Meter (range, strength).

That you can tag a spot where the wifi client is and when you walk outside you can measure or hear ( with beeps or tones) when the signal becomes weak.

Possibilities: you can put an overlay (like a bullseye) on the tagged wifi client that indicates 25, 35 or 50 meters.

Wireless Devices claim a signal range on the boxes. But every house and environment is different.

I'd be very interested in an app that saves money and extends battery life. What I would like is something along the lines of Phone Alarm, which runs under WM 6.x The basic features are:

1. Turn BT, GPS, WIFI, data connection and phone on or off at specific times.
2. same as one but based on charger presence (turn BT on when I'm in the car and the phone is in the charging holder.
3. Schedule email sync to specific times (when I'm at home, through WIFI). This saves money for those who don't have a data flatrate.
4. setup profiles to do the same as 1 plus change volume and vibration settings. Example: "Meeting" turns off all sound as well as BT, GPS, WIFI with one button. These should optionally lock and override timed settings so your radio doesn't turn on in a plane just because it's 11:00 am.

A messaging/MMS app that allows you to set user agents.

Unfortunately my carrier only will talk to phones with certain user agents. I've been able to fool it with Android, but currently I can't in Windows.

I'm hoping for an Interop Unlock (unfortunately it's a 2nd gen HTC device, factory unlocked but still not interop unlocked). I was thinking there may be something in the registry but I don't know yet.

Any ideas for "applications" -- not hacks that adjust system settings (which can't be accessed by an application)?
What do you think about these ideas:
  1. An app like Efficasoft Mobile Express
  2. An app which puts shortcut of turning the phone off/ changing profiles and standby on a live tile
  3. A GTD based Task Management app which works offline and syncs with Google/ Hotmail calendar or any app like nirvanaHQ
  4. An app which picks up calls automatically when handsfree is plugged in (i.e. which gives a couple of other options too)
  5. An app which enables MS Tellme even when the phone is locked

Is the list enough? :)

I hope you like it and develop something from these. Looking forward to your reply

Password maker for your apps. I would want to have a password on some of my apps. One example of this is my messaging app isnt something that I want everyone to see. I have a registry editor on my phone and don't want people playing with that either.

Could some one do a autolunch app based on events?

For example phone is aware when it is plugged just to charger or via USB cable (even without zune).

My idea is an app that does fallowing:

You select event - I am interested in phone plugged to charger or via USB to sync

Then you select action for event - Start an app lets say HTC Dock mode

Then you select aditional criteria - For example if it is between 22:00 and 8:00 start Dock mode ASAP and make the screen highlight at 0 and mute all sounds.
Any other time start Dock mode if no other action is done after pluggin in (like touch screen) after 30s. The delay would need to check what is a screen lock delay and give lower values only.

In my dreams it would also allow for specific actions when phone is in specific position programmed by us. So for example Dock mode starts if phone is at 30 degrea lean but if it is flat on ground start go to app 2 or what ever.

In short a real dock mode without docking station. I often plug my phone in, open the flip stand and have it like that over night with dock mode on but highlight at 0 and I have to do all that manually which makes no sense as phone is always in the same position over night with the same app.
