Doesnt work like that unfortunately. i have a couple of apps on the marketplace now. And still learning more on the way Wp7 os handles alot of stuff.
first of to create the hub like experience the app its self has to be a hub, So you can like create an app that will create a new hub n the phone. The phone does not allow alot of cross applications. As of right now i dont believe its possible for you to access the and pic the details of apps on your phone to your application.

Also upon my studies on the os, if you app takes longer than 10 sec to load the os will terminate the app ( this is good info for all the other developers out there). there are lots of ways around it like using multithreads and make sure your ui thread never gets bogged down.

I will research more on the issue. But as of right now from my knowledge i have to say that its not possible to create the app hub you are referring to.

[Q] Compass? Where?

According to the minimum hardware specs for WP7 devices, they all have to have a compass. So far I have not seen any apps using it. Is there a technical reason behind this?

i emailed the main guy at inesoft about the possibility of cash organizer coming to WP7 soon, and was told no. seems the long time Wm program is going to android. i feel a disappointed at the news.

So my search is on for a good personal finance app for WP7, any ideas?

Know the feeling, ive just come from iPhone land to WP7 (long time WM user aswell) missing my account tracker

Unfortunatly im in Ireland so alot of the finance / budget apps are all in dollars or are customised for US Checking accounts etc...

Hello there!

I'm obviously new here so please don't be put off by my lack of knowledge in relation to this topic.

I'll be honest here, I have absolutely no programming skills what so ever.

So I have a request! Now that the unlocker is actually out, is it possible to change a few necessary things on WP7?

Look don't take it too seriously, but can I be selfish here and request somebody out there to do us all a favour and stop creating more games for this phone and instead work on some kind of a project/application or applications that will enable this operating system on our phones too:

-Copy/Cut and Paste

-Create a new Media player that will enable us to skip to a specific 'part' of song/video using our hands to point to where we want to go! Instead of being forced to hold down >> or <<!
Also a search option with typing wouldnt hurt for songs!

-Get a FLASH PLAYER ASAP!

-This is a Windows Operating system right? Can you create a media player that will play FLV? Also enable downloading off Youtube etc!

- Get rid of this ZUNE PLEASE! ASAP! Is it possible to actually simply plug USB and GO!? I downloaded it and all of a sudden it's trying to make me play all my media files with it! Come on Zune wheres the respect!

-File MANAGER! PLEASE!

The only thing you can do with an unlocked phone is side load applications without having a paid developer account. It's not a root or jail break or even close to one.

An untapped market is the ladies and gentlemen driving the semi's all over getting your good from the ports/manufacturers to the warehouses and eventually the stores. I am one of these such people and would love to integrate my phone more into my work.

I have a very simple XLS I kinda threw up to help in the interim but I would love to have a more feature filled app.

I would like to keep track of my various trips, mileage, fuel economy, pick up and delivery locations. With the ability to add multiple stops to either pick up or delivery. Right now my XLS can't do this.

[Q] HTC WP7 Apps for non-HTC devices?

Hi there,

I've been a fan of HTC ever since they developed their custom UIs for WinMo and Android, making their devices much more affable than those from other manufacturers.

But now that WP7 is out I must admit that the Samsung Omnia7 would be my favourite device.

Would/will it be possible to get the HTC WP7 Apps (like the weather-app, notes-app etc.) installed and working on other devices such as the Omnia7 ?

The availability of those apps are definitely not a "show-stopper" or knockout-criterion to me, but I do like them somehow ^^ !

I'm not a Dev, but I don't think that that'd be so easy. I'm sure it's not impossible, but you have to find a dev who can AND wants to do that

No, HTC has some baked DLLs in the rom. If their app can't interface with 'em, they wont work.

I would love to see an app that (similarly to how it's been done on the Galaxy S phones) would light up the capacitive buttons when you have an outstanding alert, or notification.
