I have a few app ideas that I would gladly pay for if these were in the marketplace

1. School timetable app designed the same as 'Classes' for iPhone THAT ALLOWS FOR BI-WEEKLY TIMETABLES. (MyTimetable in the Marketplace is hopelessly slow and only allows for one week)

2. Quota and usage app similar to 'Consume' or 'Quota' for iPhone. That gives you the ability to login and look up many services and their balance. (Phone plan: remaining entitlements, remaining data, cost owing on your account, bus card *myki* balance, bank balance etc.

Swype for Windows Phone 7.

I would love to have Swype for Windows Phone 7.

Read on before you say: "No it can't be done: Microsoft doesn't allow the keyboard to be swap"

Yes it's true, the default keyboard CANNOT be swap. That doesn't mean that you can't develope seperate browser app and seperate SMS app that use Swype-like keyboard.

So it wouldn't be a system-wide thing. It will be a browser app with Swype-like keyboard and SMS app with Swype-like keyboard.

Have an idea to use a POI-file from a website in sweden which contains speedcams (for sweden only) and their coordinates and simply check if the device is within a (configurable) range or not and if so, then sound an alert. No maps or anything else, just a simple warningsystem.

I bet there are other websites with files that are directly downloadable as is the case with the swedish website.

What do you think, should I start coding it?

These things I loved about my Touch Pro 2 with WM6.5 that my HTC Pro 7 wont do

-The green notification light blinks when a message is received. Now the phone only blinks for a missed call :S Annoying really when theyve gone backwards.

-When Id receive a message... I could simply press the call button and it would call the person I am reading the message from. Now there is no call button... but it could be an option still.

this is probably a bigger task in practice compared to on paper but it would be amazing if someone could.

Enhance the sound enhancer...

Ok, after using Pocket Music player on my old WM 6.1, using Zune is like... The user options in Zune are minimal!
What i miss the most is having a decent EQ in Zune... The only thing that kinda
helps is the Sound Enhancer, but to be honest it's also a great disapointment as much as Zune is...
In the sound enhancer you can only choose presets, unlike in Pocket music
where you could program your own preset.

As for the Zune, i really miss the option of moving my songs freely around the playlist

Good old Pocket Music...

So, to make this short:

An EQ for WP7 would be a nice addon...
Or if someone can port Pocket Music that would be nice too Just kiddin'!

White pages, kinda

I had a GPS at one time that had a white pages app that would display the house numbers, names and phone numbers of the homes that were around me wherever I happened to be.

There are some now for homes for sale but I want more!!!!

Two things I'd like to see.

The first is silly, but I'd love to see a homebrew for bringing back the larger lockscreen font complete with the truncated months.

It was one of the things that drew me to the UI in the first place.

The second is an app idea. I really like the AU apps that are showing up on the other platforms. The closest I've seen so far is "lovers and haters" for WP7. A location based "virtural geo caching" game would be cool to see.

When I was young I played the **** out of my Gameboy Advance and love replaying those memories with Gameboy Advance emulators. If there is one homebrew app I would like to see for WP7, it would be a GBA emulator.

I would love for someone to start work on one because I have no ability to code once so ever. If you are/start working on one I can help with all graphics as I already have created layouts for the Zune HD Gameboy emulator and I'm not to shabby with photoshop.

Is it possible to write a new lock screen app for WP7? I have some ideas about other functionality on the lock screen in addition to the slide to open. So, is it possible to replace the stock lock screen?

If possible, what kind of resources can the lock screen app access? Are all the API's (like location and http-calls) available?

Slightly related, are screen savers possible? I really miss the dim "night stand" functionality from Android that shows the clock, weather etc.

Hmm, dunno about the unlock screen access, but there is an app for your "nightstand" problem. it's called "The Clock" and gives you this LED looking clock that looks really good (especially on AMOLED screens). hope this helpz

I know it's early in the game but is it possible to get a port working for WP7? I imagine playback would be pretty amazing on the 1GHZ AMOLED devices.

3D is great but nothing beats the classic 80s/90s games.

When I am surfing on Georgian utf-8 unicode sites, texts are shown as cubes and I can't reading, because Windows Phone 7 is missing Georgian fonts. I can provide you with a Georgian fonts. To replace the lock screen you just email yourself a picture that is in png format. Open the picture on you phone email, and you have the option to use as wallpaper. Do that and it will show as the lock screen. You can also save to phone.
But remember that the wallpapers to be PNG, If jpg or bmp, you can change by using the paint program.
I have attached some PNG for you to try with. Just unzip on your desktop, open and email the one you want to the email address you have on your mobile.
