the original framework has config_animateScreenLights set to false already. still there is no CRT effect,

OK download this file and flash via cwm (md5: 7c0b5e2bed08cd43c810f9c4f8d81720)
Open wifi connection and try if you got CRT effect now.
_SVA_ note: Crt-off effect works partially when on Wifi, if not on wifi works rarely!!!
Please see if this is the case, so I will put note on OP

Hi majdinj.
Ok this is where I am.
CRT effect. > In the OP it says change the value to false. Mine is already false. Anyways i changed it to true. and recompiled and got System_framework-res.apk
framework-res.apk - 25.9MB
System_framework-res.apk - 21.3MB

now when i open the original framework and replace the resources.arsc with the modded one, the original one becomes the size of 21MB.. How?
i have compared the resources.arsc as well ( original = 6.15 and new =6.16) How does the framework reduce so much in size?
Comp level set to 0
and the CRT effect is not there as well and i lost the google account as well

As Robbie has already mentioned this crt off method does not work on jelly bean. Yes this is the way to do it on ics but no longer works in jb. Please mention this in OP.

No this method works partially when Wifi is on and rarely when Wifi is off..
so until I find a new method to share I will keep it like this.. of course I will add this notification in OP

AFAIK no it doesnt get wiped, and as for the size yeah it gets either compressed with a higher level when compiled or PNGs are optimised depends on options you use in apk manager...

For CRT TV off effect, I will add new method that uses service.jar file... please stay tuned!!

Just one more thing and this thread will be 100% one other main mod used is the Volume UP to skip songs mod which is in the android.policy.jar... I could not find one single guide on how to do this.. PLease If anyone could show me how I would be much appreciated..

PS: CRT off works 100% with stock Kenerl this is a well known issue with Cutome kernel and wifi On... Siyah kernel has a fix for this. But some custom kernel like Perseus do not have the fix and the crt effect will only work with wifi on...

This is not a problem with the OPS mod.. It is a well known issue.

The services.jar mod works. I now have CRT effect but very intermittently even with the wifi ON. and the lockscreen also messed up.when i hit the power button, it goes off for a minute and then comes back on again. but it has worked.

Another thing, I am just a noob who likes learning "i.e, learning freak!!!" (not a legend, and doesn't deserve to be even).. but normal noob xda member who doesn't hesitate to share his what so called experiences with the others!!
