[DEV] PSXPeria 2.0 for Sony Tablet

I found the problem. My filelist.txt was missing some entries.

I got it to convert and install with no problems, but now the games aren't running. The screen goes black and when you hit the back or menu buttons, they stay highlighted for a few seconds then I get a Force Close error. I'm stumped now.

Wow ConEstilo, nice job! You've gotten further than anyone has ever since it seems like this project was abandoned. If you post what you used modified, I can try and toy around with it as well. Its hard to say why your game crashed, especially if you actually got it installed initially.

I would assume that if you got it properly installed, that there should be no conflicts with the android os. Though a black screen makes it sound like a video rendering error. Did you hear sound?

I think this is a tegra device, where as xperia uses a different graphic set up. I was actually trying to extract the zpak of the pinpal game instead of the crash. When I was doing alot of conversion for my xpera play, I was actually told "not" to use the crash game. Due to the fact it may not be similar in the game you're trying to convert. Such as a 2d game, or a game that uses different rendering.

The only really odd thing about the pinball game, is that it has like 4-5 zpaks @[email protected] So that kinda made me think that perhaps there's a different zpak format. The best answer to this question, would be if we had another working apk different from the stock ones. Meaning one someone downloaded through the PSN. If you got one I'd suggest maybe using one of those as a source.

Thanks bro, I didn't think the 3D mattered, but you have a point.

I just downloaded the apk and zapk for MediEvil and Hot Shots Golf 2 from the PSStore on my device. I did notice a change to a file in \lib\armeabi. I'm going to redo the patch files for it and see if it works... I just don't know anything about writing/creating patch files like game-patch.bin.

To summarize what this tool does, it basically extracts the emulator data from Crash Bandicoot, patches it, and allows you to load any PSX game that you rip to run on your device.

Here's my request to you tablet users:
First of all, I need people to test this as I do not own a Sony Tablet. More importantly, I need different APKs from people. Currently, the only APK of crash bandicoot I have for the Tablet S is one with a CRC32 checksum of 6c7c966b (NCEA00344.apk). If you have a version that has a different checksum (I'm looking for the US version especially), please PM me with a copy of it. I need to manually patch each version of the game to support it with the tool.

Again, I do not own a Tablet, so development will not be as fast as it is for the Play. Therefore, it is up to beta testers like you to help me get it working. If anything goes wrong, I need psxperia.log found in the folder you extracted the files to and android's logcat if you can get it. It would also be nice if a developer for this device can take care of supporting it. Or, if anyone's feeling generous, get me a tablet (I can also look into unlocking it, I have a couple of ideas), but I know that's asking too much.

I have xperia but I would love to run ative on tablet also so i'll look into my sony tablet and check the files ans end you a copy of it, just to make sure you need adriod/app/data/etc crash rightt? I also have another one that came in stock and that was pinball machine or something never play it but would love to play ff7 on tablet with cd change if possible will update

UPDATE: i get an error saying java can't find config or soemthing while extracting, also sony tablet S doesn't show up as a choice either for me sorry, so i had to try to copy it on my pc but i got that error first, any clues how you guys even got it extracted in the first place

This app is dead, and doesn't work in Sony Tablet.

For FFVII you don't need cd change, because the game save after every change and only have to load the next disk and load the save.

I can not install!

I PSxperia with the convertible, put the files into folders and when I install. APK, says that the application was not installed.

I want to sell my unrooted 4.0.3 tablet s and buy preowned rooted device (also with ICS but pre-rooted). Does it make sense or in future I will lose ability to run converted games (future migration to JB)?

I can copy only zpak data file NCEA00344_T_2.zpak on unrooted device, but main apk file is hidden.
On rooted device sure i will copy both files, but can I convert it with PSXperia? This tool support 4.0.3 ?
Another queston about upgrade to Jelly Bean. OK, may be devs found way to make pre-rooted JB.
Will I need to extract Crash apk's or I can use older version from ICS, and what with converted games.

Can't copy it to SD card, no permissions. Can copy only to iternal memory (not viewable through Microsoft file manager)
But I can view it in HEX editor. May be I can take 100500 screenshots and than convert it on PC from text to data, with some OCR tool.
HARD work...

I have different crash version of NCEA00344.apk and I cant use this tool. (I'm on android ICS 4.0.3 -1a)
For properly usage yifanlu will have to write new patches for new versions with new CRCs.

I'm sure if someone downgraded tablet to Honeycomb can try this tool.
Just check your NCEA00344.apk CRC
