Review

So might have been one of the few who downloaded it first.I installed the rom on a clean device(wiped /system ,/data ,/cache twice ). The rom is a pre alpha and that is pretty obvious wifi, gsm, bluetooth and sdcard not working are a few things I noticed ,the rom isn't smooth well its kind of smooth on some instances and stutters on others. One of the most irritating parts that I found was the random reboots I personally faced then about 3 in 10secs and when I flashed it a second time it became almost impossible to use the device.also i couldnt seem to find the camera app(stock) on first try and on second the camera app icon was visible but on clicking reboot(all reboots were partial) ,also phone app force closes on some instances.Minor ldpi resizing is still required in the rom namingly in the trebuchet launcher icon size(take layouts from cm10) and in the phone apk's dialpad due to the new inbuilt feature for t9.So to sum it up this rom is a good start but definately not for everyone.

Highlights:

Bugs :

>com.cyanogenmod.phone crashes sometimes.

>random reboots(major bug in my opinion and needs to be fixed first).

Not Working :

>sdcard

>camera(couldnt test as app causes a reboot).

>wifi

>bluetooth

>gsm

>others untested.

Other concerns :

ldpi layouts need resizing in trebuchet launcher icon size(pull from erikcas's github or your cm10)

ldpi layouts need fixing for dialpad due to new T9 interface.

Hi Sudarshan well just about your comment for kernel 3.x just want to clarify that I spoke to alin.p about this(you know developer of badass kernel) .

He told me that firstly it will be a reaaaal big pain in the ass and the efforts required will be massive for any developer trying to do so.

Secondly the kernel will be slower or equal to the performance quality of the current kernel being used(this in context with his badass kernel).

Thirdly a similar chat with erikcas resulted in me asking about how a cleaner code path is the best way to get max performance( for real that is).

alin.p answered this by letting me know that the hacks used currently for badass or standard android 4.x kernel in our armv6 devices shall remain (as they are device specific and required to run the kernel on our devices).

so the performance you get using the badass kernel is the most you can ever hope from our devices(IMO for any rom ....and i speak from experience with galaxy fit).

so enjoy the device while it manages to last cause from what i hear 5.0 wont ever run on an armv6 device(they are but rumours).

Regards,
Dark Passenger.

PS if you are wondering badass has most of the features from 3.8 and 3.4(the best selection in concern to our device) and so its kind of like a cyborg kernel that is 90% machine and only 10% human(the 10% being the 2.6 part:)).

I think the news is not well flashed to you all.. Samsung MSM7x27 3.x kernel is just a step ahead.. What we need is to get the mtd working on our device. The main problem is one error can get our device bricked during development.. My UART is arriving the next week lets see if i can get the mtd working in the device. After that nearly everything will be easy as LG has already got a stable 3.x kernel to work with.. :D ...
