Does anyone have a working link for the OmniRom sources, or at least a forum thread? Was an OmniRom ever (officially or quasi-officially) released for these devices? I'm looking to get my hands on as many different sources as possible, so I can become as familiar as possible with this device.
There are rhar****'s somewhere on his Omni-"Omega" ROM thread. His "beta-9" was last successful install. "Beta-10" had problems and due to lack of a working device, he was unable to test it beforehand. I run the beta-9, works fine except for bluetooth (calling).

For most recent, check Omni's Google+, site, etc. They are up to MM so may be too new.
===========================
Important question: Which recovery will flash your current versions, the newest (TLS and swapped data/system partitions), TLS-only, or the older version which is compatible with Rharhsit's ROM and most others than recent CM11+??

Hi, I still have this device working as an alarm clock with very high battery life (~30 days on airplane mode) and mobility. I don't have much use for it other than that, and the occasional backup for my current phone.

The last ROM I installed on it was mukulsoni's ver12 OTA, and I might try to install these latest versions to check them out.

I was just wondering what is the recommended CWM/TWRP recovery version for these new versions, and if the installation process is the same as the old mukulsoni ROMs.. the latest conversations have been too technical and I am confused :)

Updated to "refurbiished" ROM by flashing cm-11-20151209-UNOFFICIAL-p500.zip
Settings > About phone: CM version: 11-20151208-UNOFFICIAL-p500 Bit confusing bro!
Origin: CM version: 11.0-20150212

IDK, install Root Explorer apk failed! Thanks for the ROM, anyway! :good:

Have a nice day bro!

I use TWRP v2.7.1.0 by @HardLight. You may grab it from this thread bro. Just search it. Sorry, don't remember. It's already long time back :)
Download the latest ROM , than flash with clean install (factory reset and wipe system).
Happy flashing bro! :)

I'm using a "CWM based recovery version 6.0.5.3" and I know hardlight's recovery works as well. The CWM based is just the last recovery I had installed when I was working with this about a year ago. As far as the build date not matching the name of the zip, I suspect that might be because it was built over midnight, so the kernel, etc were built on the 8th, but the zip was packed on the 9th. I am working at trying to get into building a recovery(s) for this, to make it easier to find a working recovery, etc, and to teach myself more lol. Will let you know how that goes.
@xu3sno, any chance you got an error message when root explorer failed to install, or could you grab a logcat? (My device is giving me "unknown baseband" no mater which version I flash at this point, so I can't test any netowrk functions, nor can I download any apps. (I don't have WiFi))

Hi, it's me again. I have CWM v6.0.4.6 and I get the following error installing the newest ROM:

E: Error in /storage/sdcard0/Download/cm-11-20151209-UNOFFICIAL-p500.zip
(Status 0)
Installation aborted

I'm just guessing, but maybe I need a newer version of CWM or TWRP

Have you been able to install other apps after this failed? From the errors in the logcat, it looks like it might be a space issue.
Yes bro. I can install other apps. As additional information, I can install RootExplorer apk on cm-11-20150211-p500 (the latest stable build) without problem.

Have a great weekend bro!

So I finally got home and downloaded to my laptop (wouldn't download to any of my phones). Copied to sdcard, checked md5 sum, and successfully flashed using twrp (MULTI ). Bootloop (sort of ). Android is upgrading x of 19 apps, and then CM boot animation, and then repeated. Looking at /system/app and/data/app using file manager in twrp, I see all the same apks installed in both. Yes I did factory reset. And system folder in the zip should fit (~185MB). So I guess that when I have time, I'll look at updater script, and maybe trim a little out of system folder.

Suggest not to install gapps but minimal 6 apks you just need to connect to google and save space
Google feedback
Google login service
Google partner setup
Google play for your dpi
Google services framework
Setup wizard

Recoveries

Strange... Recoveries are building just fine, and flashing just fine, but when I reboot to recovery, the old recovery is still there... Not sure what's up, still learning this whole process.

Changing the topic; my P505 is convinced that it is a P500, so neither ROM works right on it. Has anyone else ever experienced this? P500 ROMs flash fine, but have unknown baseband and graphics issues, P505 ROMs I have to change the updater script so that they will flash on a P500, and they still have the unknown baseband issue, although the graphics are fixed.

For a quick test, and a quick fix, try this on p505:

This is for p509, which also never got new baseband. Notice line 7 and 10 or 11

Thanks for those links, I tried baseband fixes to no avail... I might be able to set up a windows vm and use lg tools or someting to flash the radio. Looks like about my only hope at this point..

Yeah, I really don't remember if it was the p505, or the p506 that never got the gingerbread update (and therefore new baseband). But I believe that Androidmeda and Rashed97 set up the device tree(s) (including p509) to build for old baseband. So a stock backup would suffice to determine which baseband is actually on the phone. Working data on froyo would mean old baseband, and working data on gingerbread would mean new baseband. You can also tell if the ROM was built for old or newer baseband by looking at the size of/ system/lib/libwms.
For new bb, it should be 77kb.
For old bb, it should be 81kb. These are contained in the new/old bb zips.
