Thanks maniac just i don't know why i have a lot of error when i compile .

I try tpruvot git and cyanogendefy and same issu i think bad parameters but i don't know how correct it .

I see last change on tpruvot git about radio and boot so i think i wait one week for compile an other rom

Wish cyanogenmod had better theme support. Keep having dirty thoughts about going to miui for the themes and lockscreens. ( would have to use a different launcher and install a theme that doesn't look like an iPhone)

Only thing keeping me on cm7 is its as stable as a rock.

Just installed cm7 latest nightly 110901 ... i must say its awsum except few issues:
There is a bug in gallery that it shows photos alrdy deleted in file manager
Video recording is very very choppy
No swype keyboard
Not able to close notification panel using touchscreen ( hve to use back capacitive button)

Also how can i disable glowing of led while charging...i m afraid it might affect my led life!!

Apart frm these its an awsum rom!! Thx to epy nd quarx!!

A small note about swype : i will never add it in cyanogen... if you want it download it..

nor also any other closed source software not checked by cyanogen team or motorola...

the only exception is baseband switcher

Since one week I have random rebooting. I am not shure but it seems it happend when in charging, but sometimes happend when in my pocket. How can I understand the reason for this rebootings?

Hey guys,

The 2011/9/1 nightly is great. Everything runs even faster than last week's nightly. Impressive!

Compass and GPS are better, but GPS is not super precise here for me. It is super fast though. Maybe compass is not so precise either, but it's a lot better than the last month's nightlies I used to have.

Acelerometer seems great here on raging thunder car racing game.

Just would like no sound for camera option within camera app, maybe call recording libs too would be nice.

You guys rock, thanks for all the effort so far, this must be the best CM7 ROM out there, seriously.

isn't there any default task manager in cm7?

Also, can i uninstall system apps like defy baseband switcher and OI File manager using titanium backup nd install their latest version without causing ny other issues??

Wifi problem is when you have WPA2 not with WPA or WEP

I'm on rc1V2. No problems at all with wifi @ WPA2. Black and White Defy with red lens

LOL, your battery will definitely die years before your LED, so don't worry,
if you don't believe me, you can look up there expected lifetime in every
Datasheet and unlike normal lamps there lifetime doesn't get reduced by
often terning them on and off. ^^

I usually just install the new gapp ZIP file over the old one, so far w/o problem. Dunno if it also makes sense, but then I also wipe cache & dalvik cache.

Delete the apk...them try and reinstall it.. I have seen issues with the teether app when it's cooked into the ROM..

Hi all, first of all I just want to say, CM7 kicks ass! Now that that's outta the way....I'm having some problems with the portable hotspot feature. I was previously on RC1V2 and I had to use the Wireless Tether app + hostapd from ZTE blade workaround in order to get wifi tethering to work. Now, I've updated to the latest 831-179 nightly (which completely rocks! great battery life and super smooth overall). I've tried using the portable hotspot feature that's been built into CM7 but there's no data being pushed out (although I can still setup the mobile AP and I can actually connect to my Defy, there's limited connectivity and I can't browse any web pages). My IP settings on my desktop haven't changed when I was still previously on RC1 and wifi tethering was working perfectly then. I've also tried using the Wireless Tether app again, but to no avail (shows error on log that says: error initiating wifi module, error starting hostapd). My 3G connection is fine on my Defy, web pages loading and everything. I would greatly appreciate any help, I've been using this feature a lot since our home internet has intermittent problems, so the wifi tethering has been a real life saver. I've already tried reflashing the nightly, still no luck. Is there any solution short of re-flashing froyo? Once again TIA and keep up the great work!

You can install gapps alone. These are google apps, so if you already have any nightly installed you need not install current cm version again. (But if you would like to update newer nightly than install nightly forst and gapps after it)
As other guy mentioned, wipe cache , wipe dalvik is recommended after install.
Gapps version newtalk is only gtalk new version. You need normal for all the google apps. (If you need new gtalk than install newtalk after normal)
