Since i've updated to latest build 20121209 Official Cyanogen the microphone disappear from the keyboard, and there is no option in keyboard settings to turn it on.
What can i do?

button brightness: yes
hotspot/ wifi tether: yes - although I haven't tested those in ages....

No "voice input" option entry in the kb settings?; strange!!

Do you usually use the included Voicesearch.apk or replace it with another one?

For me, with the stock one, Google Translate and (maybe) other microphone related apps do not work...
I can attach the one I use later if you want. Otherwise, no such problem here on maniac's latest build... link to it 2 posts above yours....

* * * OFF-TOPIC part again!! * * *

I wanted to do this for ages and but never got around to do it..
But if like me, you have no use of the search button and only find it anoying to see your friends inadvertently pressing it while they're trying out a game on your phone, here's how to easily and completely disable it:

The attached pic it's pretty self-explanatory, but it's just a matter of adding 8 "#" (4 files x 2 lines) to comment out the SEARCH entries...
and reboot afterward to get it going.

Just note that this will also (obviously) disable "search button take a picture" option in the camera.

By searching xda forum for battery circle and learning a thing or two.... ;)

More specifically by replacing/adding ~130 png pics and adding 3 xml files to your framework-res.apk.

Easiest way look here in the "Defy Themes and Apps" section and I've just posted a list of tweaks and mods for cm7 and in there, you'll have a link to my theme (WizAL); install it, select and apply it in theme chooser, reboot and enjoy!
:p
Edit: and use "Icon (Default)" option in CM settings/Interface/Status bar tweaks/Battery status style

I used the battery fix in this list of tweaks and battery only charges to 92%. Any ideas? There re tonnes of battery fixes that work in various levels.

Edit: used the defy+ rom from maniac and it seems fine on my red lense defy.

Seasons greatings.

Nice find; it's nice to see that some people are still actively developing/tweaking CM7.

Although I've read most of their changelog/description and there's little that I find that attractive; but still...
There is one thing though I'd really like to see to our cm7 it's the ICS-like task switcher/killer.
They seem to have pulled it off [see pic].

I've downloaded their rom and tried to push their Task Manger and the CyanMobile App Changer apks to my system but no go; too many dependencies and without a Linux build environment, I don't think I'll be able to port this out...

I don't know how much ram the running/recent apps previews take, but this would still get my vote as the first item on the new addition whishlist to our cm7... :fingers-crossed:
Hope Santa's listening...I've been a good boy...

Cheers all

Yes you are right about uses of RAM i think LG P500 has 256 mb RAM and this working very well and one more thing is that on LG P500 all ICS and JB ROM is working much better than our Defy although its having only 256 MB Ram and Defy is 512 MB

I am new to the whole defy root/ROM thing but not new to Android and rooting etc(galaxy s and x10 mini pro).

I ask here since I want to flash cm7 and I am a little unsure. My defy (green leans) is running froyo 2.2.2, rooted and I have 2nd recovery.

According to the instructions here and on cyanogenmod all I got to do is boot in recovery, backup, wipe and flash. I would like to keep the alternative to go back to froyo one day and I have seen that if you want to go back you want to flash fixed only. Is this a fixed(7.2 stable)? Can I do a nandroid and then just restore later? Anything else I need to know?

Thanks
