Nice to see cm7 still alive.
While theres some excellent work ongoing with jellybean from devs such as Quarx, theres one huge issue that i have - battery life.

At the moment ive gone back to euroskank build from 15th March ( standard defy - not plus) i did try and flash the latest maniac over the top, but as its a defy plus build i ran into a few issues ( been a while since i was hopping between defy and defy plus builds)
I will try the build as soon as i remeber what needs to be done batt fix, format everything not just cache/dalvik and clean install??

The "sometimes black screen in call" bug on Defy+ is not solved in last build. Someone tested a CM7 build without this bug on Defy+? Have other solution for use the latest CM7 without this bug?

My Defy+ dont have this bug on stock and CM10 roms...

that bug is presents in all cm7 version for defy+ (normal defy doesnt have that problem). cm9 and cm10 works ok, without that bug. it seems that bug is unsolved problem for developers.

The button lights on, but the screen remains off... I which this bug is caused by some driver or a invalid parameter to Defy+. All customs releases based on CM7 i have tested shows the bug (WIUI, Euroskank, Maniac, etc...). The CM7 is perfect for me, except for this bug.

yep, that is "screen on bug during call" for me that is only bug on cm7 (it seems that prox.sensor stop working at moment-sleep). i dont know what is a problem, but nobody know how to fix it, too bad. probably we must live with it all custom releases is based on cm7 but on normal defy works ok.

In my opinion don't is proximity bug, because the button lights on at the moment the proximity sensor is uncovered. May be bug on lcd or cpu driver or some incorrect parameter to defy+...

This ROM is rock solid, yet Maniac is still working on it. His dedication is exemplary but I wish he moved on to CM9. Epsylon managed to make a solid build but it seems he no longer works on the defy. CM9 seems to be the limit for our hardware.

sky is the limit for our defy.

Give a try to quarx 10.1 jb 4.2.2.
This is far better than cm9 and cm 10.1.

The fluidity of rom is comparable to that of cm7 for which i've always been a fan of......cheers.

I followed your advice. I tried the latest "stable" JB from Quarx and I'm afraid it's not better than CM9 as far as stability is concerned. I installed it 4 hours ago (a clean install, no backup whatsoever) and three system apps have already crashed, including trebuchet, despite the fact that I wasn't trying to do anything fancy.

Still some work left on stability, but a very promising ROM indeed.

Try out fixing permissions at recovery.

Use greenify app from market.

Supercharge by v6 supercharger.

The rom flies.

I'm running it at 800mhz undervolted at 41 but still Fluid.....get your hands dirty and give it a try.

The latest releases of CM10 are not very stable because of the new wifi drivers and other implementations. The most stable ones are 17.02 with 22.03 JellyX Kernel or 18.03. I'm using the 18.03 build, that seems to be very stable and fast, but of course, it will never be as fast as CM7 because the hardware limitations.
