I read this POST and it said "DIRECTLY" on Kit Kat and I did that thus costing me the whole night. Luckily I had the Stock Firmware saved and didn't even know it. I waited on SamMobile for 6 hours and its still downloading now at 1 am. When it said directly i assumed it was a KK Boot-loader and was a GO! But it flashed and everything went black. I lost TWRP and Root. So SamMobile was my only option and after waiting hours and hours I realized on my desktop that I barely use that I had it stashed. Oh well....I got my old Rom back and Im happy now,...will try again tomorrow

Stupid question: can we flash any 5.1.1 version regardless of carrier/region?
I want to give this a try, but no US version.
Thanks.

Why not find the samfirm program and use that. I took it down in 2 minutes. I think there is a link in this thread.

Ok I tried this for 3 days. I was on KK and then used CF AUTO to flash Stock LP 5.1.1 for the bootloader. Then went to use CF AUTO to root and got a bootloop everytime though the site says it will work with 4.? And 5.? So that way was a mess. Had to reflash stock LP. Then already having this ROM on sd card get TWRP to work to flash. But everytime I tried TWRP it would reboot and NONE of them worked! You can use TWRP not rooted for those who dont know. So tobget TWRP I remembered rooting my Note Edge. I unchecked the reboot box in settings on CF AUTO. That did it. This time when I flashed the 2.7 version of TWRP it froze on the Samsung screen. I then help the 3 buttons down for Recovery and after about a minute....it kicked on! Then I could flash this Rom. It is great...and very smooth.. I have NotePro 12.2 and this Note 10.1 and Note Edge...they are both already with LP. This completed the cycle. My Nexus 7 is on Marshmallow already...but I doubt we will get anymore updates with Samsung stuff though I heard the Edge is going to Marshmallow too..but I hope this helps anyone thst had the same problem I did. Now to figure out Xposed

The TWRP in the OP hard bricked my 10.1

Just a word from someone trying to follow the OP directions. That TWRP in the OP hard bricked my tablet my tablet.

Flashed it from the current TWRP revocery I had installed, rebooted to recovery, and all it did was flash the TWRP logo screen. Powered down and now can't get it to do anything.

Tried all key combos, for Fast Download, Recovery, hard Reboot, nothing is working. Very upset as this was a real good tablet and I am out of options.

Any advice would be appreciated.

If you flash it on P600 it should work but the first load is very long so be patient. If that does not work youll have to reflash 5.1.1 with odin. There is no way your tablet is bricked. I had the same issue the first time I flashed joshdroid TWRP but you have to wait 3 seconds with power and volume up and it will launch but that will take some time. Other things did you flah new 5.1.1 stock with odin before. You need to update the bootloader. Retry from zero and that should work. Wich rom are you comming from before?

You were right, my fault for not waiting long enough. Also, I didn't see that my battery was too low, so when it tried to boot to the new recovery, it died and I thought it was the TWRP install. My apologies for assuming otherwise.

Will look into flashing the 5.1.1 firmware via Odin, though I had flashed 5.1 not that long ago to try some of the 5.1 AOSP ROMs and am not a real fan of jumping through the hoops to get back root and a TWRP recovery.

I am on a 4.4.2 ROM, Hyperdrive RLS 5.1, never could get decent battery with any of the AOSP 5.1 ROMs I have tried up till now.
