We could work together on the AOSP build. :)

Task650 had tried implementing ICS for the Jetstream. He had some problems then. Perhaps he could share the problems he faced here so that others would be able to figure out the error or find a work around.

We have a working logcat. I'll apply some fixes in the ramdisk to get it booting hopefully.

If you are a dev (or interested):

Logcat loops at

Netd 1:0: starting
Failed to ..................
Failed to open quota2 logging socket

I think an init.rc line will fix it. I am using the stock boot.img and will apply the ICS bootclasspath and Netd configuration into the init.rc .

If it doesn't work, I think some patches will be required in the ROM itself. If anyone can help patch it, I'll upload a private link to the ROM for interested devs.

If nothing else works I'll build from AOKP source.

Mhkabir, its a kernel thing.. If you never compiled kernels or AOSP from source, you won't be able to do this as it takes an enormous amount of time and knowledge about everything.

Hi Chaosz-x,

Do you plan on working on the ICS port? Please give us a clean ICS rom! Then, new developers like me can tweak it. Hate HTC now.

Thanks!!!

Hi folks, Vivid user here. I've been lurking the jetsream forum for a little, and just wanted to tell you that getting a kernel both aosp/sense compatible is already done for msm/apq8xx0, I'm sure devs wouldn't mind helping you port, but be kind and patient. The kernel has only been tested on the vivid/sensation/evo 3d I don't see why it won't work with your tablet, seeing as it uses the apq8060. If you have questions ask synergy or io_monster on irc at #htc-holiday (free node), those guys are crazy talented devs and would most likely love to try and help port aosp/cm9. The only thing you guys will have to do is the ROM work. :cowboy:

it never really had a beginning. every couple of months a developer lands here, making some noise. some actually build something, others move on.
there is still a chance for something good, as JB to happen. its the same chance that a hurricane passing through a junkyard will create a Boeing 747, but it exists.

So, as a few already asked/stated, development has prety much halted.
The biggest problem is getting developers hands on with the device..

I will however try to get some developers attention..
We really need 3.2 for chameleon XD

We need 3.2 for a lot of other things as well. We have been trying to get attention of some developers in a while. But doesn't seem to work. Still, as the saying goes, try and try till you succeed.

In any case, I still stick by this tablet - I use it a lot and it has helped me a lot and am sure it will continue to do so. If we get ICS/JB/any future release it would be a bonus as I too would love to play around with new android versions. However, I will not compromise on the pen functionality for a new android OS.

I <3 HTC as you can see by my sig i keep buying HTC devices... lol .. i am selling my POS acer a200 tablet in hopes to pick up a Jetstream (since HTC Butterfly wont be avail in USA)

we can play then ":D

:D if it shares chip architect with Ville and One S I am almost 100% sure we can get AOKP AOSP CM10 running

idk about HTC versioned upgrades though due to screen size issues and all the x10 resizing
