I'm on my second coby kryos 7022 20110929. Bought the first one for my son, got CWM and root, and gapps with very little issue. My friend liked it so much he picked one up and well he got stuck with the 20120106.
Since then I've taken a crash course in fastboot, and droid development. I know nothing really, but I've become expert at restoring the recovery.img posted here.
Is a CWM variant for the 20120106 available, or a way to install gapps? Judging by my searches I'd say no. So, is there anyway I can lend a hand in the next two days?
I'd really like to get my friend setup with gapps. I've rooted the tablet successfully using super one click, and had link2sd working for app management. However, I just find it atrocious not to have Google market. I've used all methods I can think of to install.
I've tired just the APK files from the zip, I've tried loading the gapps.zip from the built in recovery, and from other more obscure methods, using adb and fastboot. I've also tried doing this from the built in system updates as well. Honestly, it seems like all the built in google software is actually being killed as it is trying to run or connect to google.
Thanks in advance! Would love to see such a decent cheap tablet run closer to its full potential.
