I am stuck in this procedure right now. In the mentioned article they talk about a img file, which is needed to expand appspace on the coby 7022, it is called tc8803mtd.img, but whereever I search I cannot find this img file. All I find is a zip file to flash via cwm, Does anybody has a clue where to get this file?
it worked on my mid7125 with no issues. made a back up of the original by installing the dump/update.zip thru the settings, about device, system update. then stored that and moved the recovery/update.zip did the same and bam, was in clockwork recovery on next boot by pressing and holding the power and home button. then I made another backup from the recovery. I kept the stock gingerbread 2.3 cause it works fine but at least now I have options. Thanks for all the great info on this thread!
this is a work-in-progress development project for porting CyanogenMod 7 (gingerbread/2.3.7) and ClockworkMod Recovery 5 to Telechips TCC8902 and TCC8803 tablets.
this is not perfect at all. and I'm very busy. progress will be very very slow. I may not be able to answer your question/request. if you have some idea for improvement, please do it freely.

our good-old-TCC-tablets are so outdated that it's hard to find any use for them, especially most of them having resistive touchscreen.
So everything I write below is to be treated as an exercise. If experienced developers still read this thread, please correct me below:

- pre-4 Android versions aren't as flexible as ICS+ so we generally can't have one /system image for the whole family. (Kernel is still a very device-specific thing, in most cases we need kernels per device)
- As a result we have a whole pack of images, each tied to one model. First thing comes to my mind: can anyone make further classification? I mean: classifying by Wifi chip may not be enough. As a whole supporting a Wifi chip by a separate ROM may be quite an overkill. I've seen a Wifi support made as a "patch" zip file installable with CWM after installing a ROM.
- A not-yet-supported device support may be based on existing ROMs. But what would be the most crucial criteria of choosing a ROM to start with? My guess is: touchscreen driver. Right? TS controller may even be damaged if used with improper soft.
