Development dead for Honor Play?

Regarding recent news that HPlay won't be getting EMUI 10. So we are essentially stuck with a locked bootloader and Android Pie. Does this means the development for this device won't continue any longer?

Honor India i think they said they are working on unlock bootloader but seems to be a little longer to make this happen

is it possible to get honor play bootloader unlocked at an indian service center?
if so, what are the charges concerned with the same?
