First of all, please don't spam this thread. And saying HELP! will not make your phone run on stock rom.

Secondly, exclude ''unknown'' on flashing firmware screen and flash directly. if this not helped, exclude ''bootbundle'' too.
.

---------- Post added at 07:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:09 PM ----------

another thing. there is no ( unknown) thing in the flashtool that I'm using...

any way.. what I did is unlocking my phone bootloader then flashing twrp v3.1 using fastboot in flashtools then I can enter to recovery again and make a restore for my stock rom 5.1... I hope if some one who face the same problem that I had will learn from what I did.

So, how do I transfer from one to another lol?
Sorry for asking too much xd

Uh, try to flash it on top of your current installation, although I just realized this also runs in systemless mode and that'll break in LBL... Hell, there isn't any good Superuser manager app for Android 5.1.1, is there?

Z5 STYLE version: LATEST
Model: D2303
Did you flashed a clean FTF and reinstall the ROM to see if the bugs still happens?: When i reboot phone it cant boot up again.
Lollipop FTF you flashed (CDA if possible): 1278-3081 18.6.A.0.182 Unlocked Bootloader
Recovery you used: TWRP 3.0.3-b2
Steps to reproduce the problem: ???

Hi all,
Thank you for your work and contribution.
My question: Is it possible to unroot after installing this ROM? (In order to run snapchat for example). Or running this ROM require the root?

May thanks in advance for your answer,

Regards,

Hello there!
Today I'm presenting you the latest update of my ROM, Xperia Z5 STYLE 4.6.
This rom has a unique feature, and it's that it's made for both locked and unlocked bootloaders, having some advantages and disadvantages linked to it...

features.png

• Based on the latest Xperia Z1 Compact deodexed base by @Gaurav007, with SuperUserMod and ZipAlign.
• Implemented with a bunch of updated Sony Xperia Z5 apps, such as Camera, Weather, Contacts, Dialer, some themes, etc.
• No bloatware: All unuseful Sony apps were removed. The system has been optimized at it's max.
• Tweaked: Some tweaks have been implemented to improve your Lollipop experience, such as TRIM for NAND, ART Tweaks, and zRAM Tweaks.
• You can install Xposed on top of it if you want to. Just Google Xposed For Lollipop and follow the steps.
• Custom ROM OTA Services: A OTA Update system has been implemented, independent of Sony's FOTA, so that I can send you over there the latest patches and updates of the ROM.
• X-Reality & Bravia Engine 2 come preinstalled to enjoy a better image quality.

Instructions (LOCKED BOOTLOADER):
- Flash an FTF from the latest Xperia M2 firmware, you can grab the latest as of today (18.6.A.0.182) from here - http://xdaforums.com/xperia-m2/general/ftf-download-centre-xperia-m2-t3157411

- Install latest MultiRecovery version from here.

- Go to Wipe, Advanced, and choose Data, cache and Dalvik cache.
- Go back and choose Install Zip, Choose from /sdcard if it is in the Internal Memory or /sdcard1 if it's in the SD.
- Choose the Z5-STYLE-*.*, depending on the version you downloaded, and install it. After 3 minutes it will be ready to go!
- Now reboot. After 10 minutes, it should have booted up.

Instructions (OPEN BOOTLOADER):
- Flash an FTF from the latest Xperia M2 firmware, you can grab the latest as of today (18.6.A.0.182) from here - http://xdaforums.com/xperia-m2/general/ftf-download-centre-xperia-m2-t3157411

- Download and copy the latest version of the ROM to your SD-card or Internal Memory. Reboot your device into TWRP recovery (Pressing the Vol- button while it's off, then power it on and stop pressing Vol- when it boots into TWRP).

- Now reboot. After 10 minutes, it should have booted up.

WARNING: If you wish to install version 4.0, you should check the Old Thread for instructions, which is at the bottom of this post. I don't recommend it. Use the latest version instead.

Upgrade (Via OTA):
- Open the OTA Updater app.
- If there's any new update, it will prompt us. Just hit Download.
- Once it finishes downloading, it'll let us flash it. Just hit the Flash button. Leave unchecked all checkboxes (Backup, Wipe Data and Wipe Cache), unless I explicitely told you to check some in the changelog.
- Once Sony's logo appears, hit the Vol+ button to open TWRP.
- If the installation doesn't start automatically, go to Install, choose your internal memory (sdcard0), go into OTA-Updater folder, Download, ROM, and you'll find there the ZIP.
- OpenRecoveryScript will do the rest for you, so just sit back and relax.

Upgrade (Manually):
- Download and copy the latest version of the ROM to your SD-card or Internal Memory. Reboot your device into TWRP recovery, following the steps from above methods, either Open Bootloader or Locked Bootloader.
- Choose Install Zip, Choose from /sdcard if it is in the Internal Memory or /sdcard1 if it's in the SD.

- Optional: If you want to clear your data, go into Wipe, Advanced, and check Data, Cache and dalvik cache.
- Reboot and wait until the system completes the upgrade.

• All bugs and faulty apps, excepting some Sony camera apps were removed or fixed! (Thanks to some tweaking and modding)
• Settings app functionality has been extremely improved! Now, the 3 main required-add-ons of the ROM, APN Config, YAAB and OTA Updater have been integrated directly into the Settings, and thus, removed from the launcher to avoid duplicate functions. (APN Config is under Settings → More → Install new APNs, YAAB under Settings → Screen → Automatic brightness, and OTA Updater under Settings → About device → System updates). Also, the Settings icons have been replaced by the new Xperia X ones.
• New BootAnimations. Yes, you read it well, bootanimations, since now, in the first boot, you'll be presented with a color-changing bootanimation to let you know if the first boot is doing well, or frozen. When first boot is done, it's replaced with regular Xperia X bootanimation, which I'm quite sure you'll love it ;)
• New Android-N-style notification shade and Emojis from Developer Preview 2! As I already previewed some days ago, here you've the flattish Android N style notification shade, plus some new emojis right from Android N, featuring support for Unicode 9!
• Support for XPERIA Companion (and PC Companion) added!
• A small Stagefright patch has been applied to the system, to avoid MMS RCEs. For those upgrading from older versions, in order to activate it, please, wipe data of the Xperia Messaging app.
• New Number Assistant app included, letting you block unwanted calls and SMSs.
• Updated launcher (Xperia Home 10.0.A.0.40), featuring slide-down-to-search function right from the desktop and app drawer icon rearrange (if wanted).
• New Xperia X system sounds added, featuring new ringtones and notifications.
• All System apps, and SuperSU package were updated to it's latest version as of today.
• And some other things I can't recall right now...

Old versions:

Version 4.5-MU1 and 4.5b-MU1
• Beta release channel it's going to be considered 4.5b-*** from now on, instead of the old 4.5b3, which is now a non-sense.
• NotoColorEmoji font has been updated to use Android 6.0.1 emojis. You'll need an external keyboard to use the new emojis, such as Fleksy.
• Settings has been slightly redesigned, following Xperia X series look and feel.
• The gap between the network indicator and the battery icon has been reduced considerably.
• A better PS4 Remote Play port has been included. I've no idea if it works , so if anyone owns a PS4, please test it and report.
• SEMCcolorExtraction was faulty, making multimedia LED to stop working in Album and Video app. Now that's fixed.
• Xperia Home has been updated to 10.0.A.0.24, featuring Double Tap to sleep in the launcher.
• Hosts updated

Version 4.5 (Full changelog since 4.0)
• New installer! Now it detects what Xperia M2 model you own (No needs of any extra patches!) - Plus, it directly installs for you latest MultiRecovery compilation (MR0.8), RIC Defeat and SuperSU, just in case you need it.
• The APNs can now be installed using a modded APN 2.1 app I included in this release. Just open the app, hit 'Add Apn' button, then go into Settings, More…, Network, APN, and choose the one that matches your carrier.
• Custom ROM OTA SERVICES enabled. You'll receive new OTAs as soon as they get published. There will be 2 OTA channels: Stable and Beta. If anyone shares the links of any OTA, I'll inmediately remove this features from Beta channel and leave this feature for Stable channel only. I'm sorry.
• New launcher! Launcher has been updated to 10.0.A.0.5, featuring more translations, and some other cool features (plus, sliding down from home screen to show search has been disabled). Also, it has been set in 'Classic Mode' as default. You can go back to the automatic one in Xperia Home Settings.
• Some apps where restored back too! Per suggestion of some users, Email, Internet (Sony's stock web browser), SimToolkit, WirelessController, File Commander, and Small Apps are back
• Clocks style has been changed! Both the homescreen widget and the lockscreen one use bold font ONLY for hours. Now looks cleaner, plus lockscreen's analog clock is changed to a more rounded like style, thanks to Mariana Lovegood!
• Some camera optimizations! Now you can choose 5MPx too in Manual & SuperiorAuto mode, plus, some random crashes such as turning on video mode from the lockscreen have been fixed. (MANY MANY THANKS to @boyrock for this! Go thank him!)
• Sound quality has been improved, using my own 'Headphone-quality-mod', and xLOUD, ClearPhase and S-Force Front Surround 3D were added, thanks to Adrian Lucas for the heads up!
• The default theme is now set to work Out-of-the-box (no need to re-apply), and now it has Orange accent + Black design.
• X-Reality and BE2 are added for those with untouched DRM keys.
• Call recorder fatures added (hopefully, it should also work in M2 Dual, but since TeleService now is not the same, I've no idea).
• Regarding Settings: "About device" has now a cleaner look (less bloated + new ROM banner) & I've implemented some toggles to WiFi and Bluetooth, thanks to Venkat Kamesh.
• PS4 Remote Controller (Screen Sharing) is now added (you'll need to install PS App if you want it (Google Play).
• Build.Prop's are lightly tweaked, with some ART optimizations.
• Get to know it Widget (handy for newbies) is added.
• SemcMetadataCleanup (for Walkman Tag editor) is fixed.
• Sysctl wasn't recognized as a proper command, resulting in a I/O usage chaos. That's solved.
• Updated Clock app.
• Updated Conversations and Phonebook app.
• Updated Weather app.
• Updated Notes app.

Version 4.5b3-f2
• Fully working Audio effects added (xLOUD, ClearPhase and S-Force Front Surround 3D), thanks to Adrian Lucas for the heads up!
• Lockscreen's analog clock is changed to a more rounded like style, thanks to Mariana Lovegood!
• Included by petition a file explorer.
• Sysctl wasn't recognized as a proper command, resulting in a I/O usage chaos. Now that's solved.
• Updated Notes app.

Version 4.0; Initial version.

bugs.png

Apart from some faulty camera apps, like Sweep Panorama, and video mode in AR Effect, everything is working as intended.
Any sporadic bug might be easily solved by reinstalling the ROM, or by wiping Dalvik cache and/or Data.
For example: Camera app crashes → Wipe Dalvik and it should be solved.

WARNING:
If you experience any major hardware issue during XPERIA Z5 STYLE usage, please, check here and proceed as described.

#OldPost:
Xperia Z5 S.T.Y.L.E. 4.0 features:

- Stock based, 18.6.A.0.175, Deodexed using @Gaurav007's Firmware, zipaligned and with SuperUserMod.
- Implemented using ALL XPERIA Z5 APPS (which weren't considered Bloatware OFC). For example: Z5 Camera 2.0, Weather, Calendar, Contacts, Themes, Dialer, Messaging, Mail, etc.)

- TWEAKED: Implemented with various tweaks, discovered and made by @Miche1asso, to ensure a proper Lollipop experience. For example: GPS Fixes, zRAM tweaks, FStrim to boost your NAND...
- You can install Xposed if you want to, just flash Rovo89 API22 Xposed flashable Zip and you're ready to go
- If you want full camera Resolutions, please check here: #62

... everything is working FLAWLESSLY... Again thank you so much for your hard work and effort, you created the best M2 Rom around...
Fluid, light and visually beautiful hell even the overheating has stopped being such a massive issue.

Install Instructions (LOCKED BOOTLOADER):
- Flash an FTF of the compilation 18.6.A.0.175, grab one for your device here - http://xdaforums.com/xperia-m2/general/ftf-download-centre-xperia-m2-t3157411

- Install MultiRecovery 0.7 from here.
- Copy the ROM to your SD-card or Internal Memory. Reboot your device and when you see blue/cyan LED while in the Sony Logo, tap many times the Vol- button if you want to use PhilZ or Vol+ to use TWRP.
[I personally don't recommend PhilZ anymore. Use TWRP instead.]
- If on TWRP: Go to Wipe, Advanced, and choose Data, cache and Dalvik cache. // If on PhilZ: Go to Wipe and Format and do a factory reset.
- Go back and choose Install Zip, Choose from /sdcard if it is in the Internal Memory or /sdcard1 if it's in the SD.
- Choose the Z5-STYLE-x.x.zip and install it. After 4~5 minutes it will be ready to go!
- Now flash SuperSU 2.52 Beta + RIC Disabler (with Extras) + MultiRecovery 0.7 Flashable from the 'Flashable Zips you'll need' section inside Downloads. Do it one by one.
- In case you own a D2302 or D2305, flash the patch for it now.
- Now reboot. After 10 minutes, it should have booted up.
- You'll see you have No Wallpaper, so tap and hold on a blank space inside your desktop, choose themes and apply Dark or White one on your preference.

Changelog:
Version 4.5b2
• New installer! Now it detects what Xperia M2 model you own (No needs of any extra patches!) - Plus, it directly installs for you latest MultiRecovery compilation (MR0.8b) and RIC Defeat, just in case you need it. If you need SuperSU, go and flash a SuperSU zip.
• New launcher! Launcher has been updated to 10.0.A.0.5, featuring more translations, and some other cool features (plus, sliding down from home screen to show search has been disabled)
• Some apps where restored back too! Per suggestion of some users, Email and Internet (Sony's stock web browser) are back, and, Small apps theme has been changed to Z5 style.
• Clock style has been changed! Both the homescreen widget and the lockscreen one use bold font ONLY for hours. Now looks cleaner.
• Some camera optimizations! Now you can choose 5MPx too in Manual & SuperiorAuto mode, plus, some random crashes such as turning on video mode from the lockscreen have been fixed. (MANY MANY THANKS to @boyrock for this! Go thank him!)
• Sound quality has been improved, using my own 'Headphone-quality-mod'.
Versión 4.0; Initial version.

Known bugs:

My APNs are not downloading automatically, what should I do?
Configure them manually... I'll try to fix that for the next one ;)

My screen is not working to touch anymore after flashing the Zip?!?!
That's a Sony's Kernel bug present in all 0x0800 screens, and I can't fix that.
The solution for me is to lock my device, and after 3 seconds, turn the screen back on and it should be working ok again.

Z5 S.T.Y.L.E. Beta Releases Announcement

Currently new inscriptions are closed.
Please, check back later.

Today, I’m glad to announce a new beta program for Z5 S.T.Y.L.E. Inside it, I’ll be publishing more regular updates (latest stable release hasn’t been updated since it was published), to let users try experimental features and receive feedback from them. This implies that users that request join into the beta program need to be active, and have some minimal knowledge of Android.

How to join

To join, you can just send me an email to sergiocastell [at] gmail [dot] com, or send me a PM.
PS: I won’t reply any email non-related with Beta Program access requests.
Since we’re going to work in AndroidFileHost you’ll need to register there and then, you'll need to follow me so that I can add you to the Beta group (AFH has been notified since this is a bug).
Of course, you’re not able to redistribute the beta packages, nor share them. If anoyone you know wants to join in, then redirect them here.

The milestone

The goal of the project right now is to fix any errors from previous releases, and to bring back again some features that were removed. This will start from Z5 S.T.Y.L.E. 4.5b1 (Beta #1), and then, start adding new features in upcoming beta releases. Once we arrive to a state where everything seems to work as intended, it’ll be published to everyone, including those out of the beta release.

Why?

As I said earlier, this can help both you and me. I get constant feedback from you, and you get the latest release as soon as I compile it.
So, hope you guys understand it. I’m waiting to hear from you.

Roadmap

4.5b1 released at the time of creating this post, 2015-12-09.

Z5 S.T.Y.L.E. 4.5b2-r2 release

Hi dear XDA friends.

After lots of headaches and problems... I've just finished the new beta, the 4.5b2-r2 release!
I'm very glad to introduce to you it's new features:

• New installer! Now it detects what Xperia M2 model you own (No needs of any extra patches!) - Plus, it directly installs for you latest MultiRecovery compilation (MR0.8b), RIC Defeat, and SuperSU, just in case you need it.

However, I've been receiving emails complaining that APNs are not working properly yet. I've realized you need to have a working WiFi connection AND R2R (aka Ready To Run) should have updated the list of parameters from your network operator... So if that doesn't happens, then nothing to do. I still have no idea how to force R2R to use latest lists instead of the ones that come prebundled on the device, so... Configure manually if that doesn't happens.

Remember that if you want to try it, you need to join the beta group. You've more info here: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=64232607&postcount=277

Lastly, I just wanted to let you know I'll be very busy until february or so, until I finish my End-of-term exams, from now on. I'll carefully read all your emails, with all your suggestions for next release 4.5b3, but please, excuse me in case I reply to you (very) late.

Oh... And Merry Christmas and Happy new year!

Xperia Z5 STYLE 4.5 and Xperia Z5 STYLE 4.5b3-f2 are here!

Today, I'm very glad to announce that Xperia Z5 STYLE 4.5 has finally reached an adecuate state to be released as a Stable ROM. You'll probably have many doubts, so I'll try to clarify as many as I can.
First things first, I'd like to thank all the >350 ACTIVE DAILY USERS of the beta releases for their support, and their help by reporting as many bugs as they were able to find, as well as sending ideas and an excelent feedback. Without them, this wouldn't have been possible.

Now to the main thing: There are currently rolling out an OTA for the Beta Channel, and the main ROM for the Stable Channel.
The OTA will install some fixes and additions I introduced in the Stable Channel release (Mainly, they're: the S-Force 3D Surround support, the SysCtl fix, an update for the Notes app, and the new 100% rounded analog clock in the lockscreen).

If you're a newcomer (currently in Sony's Stock ROM), or you want to upgrade from 4.0:
• Download the ROM from the first post.
• (From the recovery, do a Nandroid Backup if you want to)...
• Wipe Data, Cache and Dalvik cache, BUT do not wipe System (This step is not mandatory if you're upgrading from 4.0).
• Flash the Zip.
• Profit!

If you're a betatester:
• An OTA, called 4.5b3-f2 will prompt soon on your device. When it appears, download it.
• If asked, choose not to wipe anything.
• When your device reboots, press the Vol+ button to trigger TWRP when you see the Blue LED blinking. Thankfully, the OpenRecoveryScript will do the rest of the work for you. If not, just install the Zip from /sdcard/OTA-Updater/download/ROM.
• Profit!

You've detailed info on this, step by step explained, in the first post.

If there were any other minor fixes after this releases, they'll come as an OTA to both Stable and Beta Channel, so, there's NO NEED as of today to join the Beta channel, unless you want to receive upcoming beta releases in the future.
I hope everything is as clear as possible. Enjoy it!

Xperia Z5 STYLE 4.6 announcement - Are you ready?

Starting right now, Xperia Z5 STYLE 4.6 starts rolling out to all!

Please note: This time, you won't get an OTA notification. As people preferred a full update package (for newcomers, for example), instead of a delta update, it weights 500MB, so it's almost impossible to send it as an OTA, since you'll probably make an incredible DoS to my server. But don't worry! Next updates will surely be in OTA format :D

Changelog:

To download this new version, go to the OP and download the version corresponding to your currently active channel. (If you were already a beta tester, download 4.6b, if not, download regular 4.6)...
Please refer to the Upgrade (Manually) section in the OP if you've any doubt on how to proceed.
Enjoy, and have a nice day!

NOTE: In case SuperSU is missing after making an Upgrade, install the apk from /system/app/SuperSU/SuperSU.apk using a root file explorer. Once done it should work again.
