If you're copying & pasting the name, try it as just passimg as it's already a .zip file (extension hidden by Windows) so you might be accidentally calling it passimg.zip.zip

Thanks thanks

Ok...I followed everything...and yes the mistake on my part was renaming passimg.

zip.zip

You must rename is passimg...I guess It was to the added.zip.zip...

I know I'm a newbie...but from now on...wich tool would you use for this to not happen again...I mean wich back-up system: clockwork...not sure, anything else

Thanks! Again I will donate to this site because I was about to change phones!

New question

Hi, my phone now is working and all.

Here is the new problem...I would like to go to 2.2.1 ( the passimg.zip is 2.2) is there a way to update without unlocking bootloader.

I tried Androot and superoneclick....Androot gives me the Fugu message and SuperOneClick says its Rooted...but when I go to rom manager or other apps that need superuser...

I get this message : An error occured while attemting to run privileged commands!

So basically Root isn't working.

Also, when trying to install Cyan cm6...Rom manager reboots...but I get the Triangle with the exclamation point with the green man next to it...

Again...can someone help me with this

When you are on the stock rom, every boot it puts the original stock recovery back.

So to do anything you need to flash the custom recovery again and then another rom.

Just keep in mind every time you boot back to stock it will reset your recovery.

I understand that I need to flash a custom mod. But can I without root...if so how

If not, is there a possible fix for androot or superoneclick ...so i can stay locked for warranty reasons

Did you bother to take the time to go through the wiki???

Rooting is one thing, you are still on a stock rom with a stock recovery. You need to flash a custom recovery again before you can install a custom rom.

The wiki has a section on how to install a custom recovery with a locked bootloader.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Nexus_One/Recovery_Images

I said again and again. Please at least try to do your own research.

do you actually have a slcd screen? if so there is no point of using clockwork recovery, it will doesn't support slcd screens. armon ra supports them in version 1.8 and in 2.1 afaik.
