I plugged in my wireless fast charger (the one from the promo) and tried charging my note 8 and its telling me an hour and 15 minutes to charge from 57%, that seems extremely slow to me. I am supposed to use my plug from my phone? I assume these two plugs are the same since this was part of this promo. Anyone getting different results?
Did i get a dud wireless fast charger?

Does your charging notification say Fast Charging or just Charging? If the latter, go to Advanced Settings & see if wireless fast charging is turned on.

I don't have the new wireless charger. I have the older Samsung fast wireless charger that I got for my Note5 (micro usb).
My phone is at 34% right now, I just placed it on there & it said 1hr 57mins for fast charge. I wouldn't worry too much about what it says. When the screen is off it should charge faster than what it says when the screen is on.
Also just to note, I hear the Samsung fast wireless chargers have issues if you don't use the supplied charging adapter. And yes it should be the same spec as what came with your phone. Samsung even states that you need to use the supplied adapter which I thought was just for marketing reassons or whatever but it seems like it may actually be true.
Say from 0-50 it would charge much faster but it slows down when it gets higher and wirless charging is slower than plugging in, those times definitely seem normal. But my issue with wireless chargers is when they don't charge! I wake to a near dead phone and have to head to work. ?
i agree .. i am using a Spigen Hardware case and i have to reset it on the pad 2 or 3 times sometimes and make sure it stays charging after 30 seconds, i get "wireless charging paused" numerous of times. my chances of getting that message increase to 90% of the time when i use the Spigen Car Vent Magnet

I just came across this video comparing wireless charging for the Note 8 & iphone 8. The estimated time that the Note 8 estimated for full charge was pretty spot on.

I have a magnetic car mount but I never use the backplate, it just sticks to my phone for whatever reason, same with s7e, s8+,note 8
I have the promo charger and yes, that does seem to be the same thing that mine is saying. Fortunately, with the way I use my phone, I don't actually care about fast charging and I usually just leave it turned off on my phone.
im confused here.. lol .. you dont have to use the + side of the magnet from your phone to connect it to your vent magnet ?

Correct I don't use the metal plate that your suppose to stick to your phone or case, phone will stick to the magnet vent already
