Hi I recently got a op3 for £25. Was that worth it? The back is fine but the screen in heavily scratched BUT it is not cracked and I get about 6 hours screen on time. It's currently on oos 9.0.5 stock but should I root? All in all I think I got a bargain but the scratches are terrible.

I would say. Root it, try a custom rom or a custom kernel (mcd kernel is pretty good for stock oos) to increase perfomance and sideload the gcam. Also, you can check ebay for screen replacements and/or a new battery. It's a pretty straightforward operation if you have the tools. IIRC you can get a new screen with the frame assembly for as low as 20 pounds.

Cheers for that. I really like the device. I don't know if it's me but I also think it looks modern an the 16:9 ratio is a blessing. I was going to go custom and try havoc 3.0. I have just looked at the screen replacement and tear down and I have to say it looks easy to replace screen and frame etc.

Woah £25 is a great deal. Congrats.
I bought a used OP3 for about ₹10.5k (£114) last year in september. It's in great condition though, no physical scratches on the screen or anything.
A screen replacement shouldn't cost that much.

6 hours of SOT is unheard of. You must be a very light user.
For me, battery life is awful. About 3 hours of sot.

If you really want to try Android 10, you can go with havoc or msm extended.
Or stay with oos for a few weeks until those roms are very stable.

Yeah light user for now been at work so haven't been able to fully utilize it. And think I'll hold out on 10 stocks fine at the moment.

There are quite a lot of screens of varying qualities available. The cheaper ones tend to create problems. Use Search to find the issues of the cheaper screens and try to avoid them.

The price you paid is definitely worth it.

EDIT: Just a SAMPLE of one of the threads relating to screen replacement issues.

Thanks for that! It was a very informative read! I can keep the screen I got untill it cracks or breaks as it's just cosmetic. I have a tempered glass on and covers about 40% of scratches but the deeper one show through! Do you think a matte or a black privacy protector could eliminate more from being seen? The scratches bother me a lol bit but not enough to put me off my experience with this great device.
