Well my S8+ gets me around 4-5 hours SOT while my S7Edge got me 6-7 hours SOT
My OnePlus3T gave me about the same SOT with the S7E

Yes I had it
I sold it because it was to boring, the camera was pretty bad and the battery (without any modification and dual SIM always on) was horrible
How was the battery horrible with 6-7 hours of SOT on your 3T? That is amazing battery life!

That was after the custom ROM and kernel that I installed
Otherwise, it would be somewhere around 4.5-5.5 Hours SOT. Which is bad, considering that I don't use any of my phones, intensely

I find One plus phones boring too. Perfectly capable but nothing to make me enjoy it. I've had the ONO, Oneplus 3 and 3t. Sold all of them inside a month of having it.

Even though 2 have been replaced I'm enjoying the S8+. Doesn't feel as wide as my Note 7 was which for me set a benchmark and was perfect - well the second one was as the first started bootlooping!
I'm waiting for the Note 8 though!!!

I have had mine a week today, about to go back to the store with it as it has the redish tint down each side of the screen and its driving me nuts! Even after playing with the settings i still feel like I can see it. I have come from a 6P and to be honest the 2 things i really miss is the width of the 6P, the keyboard was a bit more spaced out and i made less mistakes with my fat fingers... the 2nd thing is the updates direct from google...I was running the Android O beta on it... and now i am running 7.0?! I did look at the Pixel XL when making my choice but it just felt like a step back when you stood in front of the S8 and Pixel, i mean - no wireless charging  which i have to say is one of the best features for me with this phone, i have wireless charging points at home and work and so i never run out of power and it is so quick!
The Red tint is a known issue you can comeback to Samsung store and ask for a new one ;)

Not even a little bit. I love almost everything about this phone. My two complaints:

1) I wish I could root it and put pure Android on it without bloat.
2) I wish it was a little more resilient. It does not fare well in drop tests.

On the sunny side of the Alps
I almost did....
Been totally pissed since the other parties were loosing me during calls constantly.
Service center update the firmware on Monday to AQF7 with Androis security patch June the 1st.
Now that horrible issue is resolved and battery life improved I might even starting to like it....
Good design but this is my second Sammy after 6 years...
Ask me how I like it when 7.1 will be released - damn I miss application shortcuts...

I'm not regretting buying the phone at all. Everything works great, the speaker is really loud and im averaging around 6 1/2 to 7 hours of SOT at 3/4 brightness. I bought the G955U1 Snapdragon US unlocked version and I actually got one with a perfect screen without the red hue. I wish it were the old aspect ratio as I really wanted a larger device but I can live with the size. If the new Note is larger when it comes out I'll probably give the S8+ to the wife and get the Note but only if it's around a 6.5 incher or larger.
i want to buy the US unlocked phone to use on ATT and VZW. do you know for sure if the phone supports LTE band 29?

This is the best phone I ever had. The FD version seems to be the worst, tho coz the battery life is not as amazing as F or U version, but still get me thru the day. But android is boring me somehow. im willin to change to iphone again. After 7 years on adnroid, i want to try ios
I use both daily (personal=S8; work=iPhone 7). I would never purchase an iPhone as my personal. No contest.

I don't regret buying my s8+ as it's a great phone!

However if some of the note 8 specs are true I.e stereo speakers then I'll definitely be getting one... just hoping that the s8+ hasn't lost a ton of resale value by then

Nope, no regrets at all. Love it.

Get 6-6:30 hrs SOT. On the s7 edfe if i was lucky only got 4 hrs 100-5%. What a peice of crap that phone was. Atleast the one i had.
