I certainly regret it and actually went back to my note3. I miss having the ability to be on a call and have data, I miss the root ability, I miss not being able to automate my hotspot when I enter my car (I have an android head unit that needs data). So each time I need to go through the rigmarole of turning off data, turning on hotspot, turning data back on and hoping it works before I can even drive my car if I want my head unit in my car to be able to stream audio or use waze. i also miss not having xposed and my youtube playback when it isn't the focused app. Overall it is now a paperweight until I can root it.

I actually returned mine for a v20. Had to go with my gut on the chances of the tmobile bootloader being unlocked. If I cant root it I don't want it .

I average 6-7 hours of SoT brightness set at 90% so I love this phone and the dual Bluetooth audio is wicked good

I came from the V20 and the experience is night and day....the only thing I miss about the V20 is the DAC and the finger print sensor location.

But the V20 was a glitch fest.....just full of issues and battery life was a good 2 hours less of SoT

Must be isolated......I have had zero issues while being on call and using my data without all the hoopla that you go through

I think the phone call/data is a sprint thing. THe note 3 has two radios so I can be on 3G while on a call. With the new phone I cannot.
From sprint
Sprint does not currently support simultaneous data and voice while on the Sprint network, though it is possible if a WiFi connection is available.

Regret? The current best phone in the world? This phone is perfect! Even samsung interface is great (I remember Touchwiz). Fast, beautifull, different than anything on the market. Only original phone today together with Mi Mix. Everything works great. I even don't regret not having a root because Secure Folder (Knox) works almost perfect. There are only couple of thing I miss for not having root but hopefully one will be sorted with app update... and the other is not being able to turn off data from Tasker.

Just picked mine up today, and (coming from the Note 4) loving it so far. The other day I got the wife the Pixel (non-XL) and that's an amazing phone too, and prior to my S8+ arriving I had second thoughts and thought maybe I should have picked up the Pixel XL for myself instead of the S8+, but right now those fears are allayed.

Having said that, I will more than likely switch to Google at some point after the next series of Pixel phones as I want new Android version as soon as they arrive rather than have to wait for months and months. The S8+ is an awesome phone though, and I'll be enjoying it for a while :)

Even better, working VoLTE means the phone stays on 4G/LTE while in a call. Not that I need that often, but it's cool ;)

nah, its the best battery life ive ever had using an android device. after using nova launcher as default launcher, i dont get any lag anymore. the screen is really surreal tbh, i dont notice it until i see a regular cellphone screen and look at those huge bezels lol

My last phone was the Note 4, excellent phone and I had stock + personal customizations, battery lasted easy 4 days ~6hrs SoT.
Now S8+, got an SD variant 1st, sold it ASAP and got an Exynos.
Thoughts:
- Never used a case, but dang this thing is slim, slippery (when hands are cold/dry) and fragile looking... so I've had to clad the best looking phone is an ugly case (Samsung Alcantara).
- The screen color is not uniform, I have a reddish tint where it curves.
- Performance is good.
- Remapped Bixby.
- The way Samsung package their images now is different, so I spent a while trying to get it to my liking, but ended up with WiFi connections it couldn't memorize and a bunch of other issues, so went with Renovate ICE, might try BatMan.

All in, I'm happy except about the case and reddish tint on the curves, I think I would prefer an edge to edge flat screen (Essential PH-1).

Don't think I regret it, but the only reason I switched from my iPhone 6S Plus is because I was bored.
Usability and speed (Other than the occasional Android lag) is about the same for my use. (Emails, messaging and like 1 game, FateGO)

So I feel like the money I paid for what I gained isn't exactly proportionate, but it's been a while since I used Android as my main phone, so I decided to jump back for a bit. it's been good.

Having to worry about screen protectors that fit my case is dumb tho.
Also smart unlock with my Bluetooth headphones makes up for the fingerprint scanner being on the back of android phones.
agreed. think the price-tag was a tad steep and it does feel (performance wise) more of an incremental upgrade to the s7. they should have given the plus 6gb as standard ...

I switched to sprint for the S7 edge and they gave me a deal buy one get one free. So basically I paid 27 a month for 2 S7 edge phones. Moral of the story is, I should have kept my phone as this one brought my bill up another 30 bucks a month and Samsung software is terrible. I was fine with my edge. I'm not even crazy about this phone, I just want stock Android on it.

Well ......
I own the device for about a week and I have to say that it covers almost all of my needs but:
1. The battery life is worse than the S7 Edge or 1+3T (at least for me)
2. S8+ feels a little bit boring after a while

Overall, I didn't regret at all since it is nearly perfect
The battery will be a lot better after a while, at least for me the battery life increased a lot since i got the phone.
