Difference in usable Roms between the M8 and VZW M8 section?

So how many of the Roms from the non VZW M8 section work on our device? I have a VZW M8 showing up tomorrow and want to get romming ASAP.

I think the individual threads do a pretty nice job of indicating which are compatible with our device. In my skimming, it's the AOSP ROMs that are compatible, along with some Sense ROMs. GPE ones aren't compatible yet from what I've gathered, although we have one in our section that does (although has some minor annoyances the dev is working on).

Alright cool. Glad to hear some of them will work on the VZW edition. Time to go hunting!

This is my first HTC device after only ever owning Samsung's so I'm trying to educate myself and not do something stupid haha.

What I do is just open a particular thread and search "Verizon". Usually through that you can find info on Verizon compatibility

You'll find you have pretty much all major ROMs at your fingertips. There is no shortage of development on this amazing phone. I'm a little shocked by the lack of custom kernels though. Coming from the GSIII, where there were several major kernel makers constantly updating their kernel to keep up with the changes, it was quite surprising to see almost no one discussing kernels here. Maybe that will come with time!

I think that the lack of kernels is due to htc not relating their code. At least that's what I understood from one of Faux's post.

I have tried just about every Rom in the main M8 original development forum. I know the GPE posted there will not work on vz but all others have for me. They all have similar issues with Wi-Fi passwords not sticking and speaker noise or speaker phone issues. The camera can also be a bit sluggish on some ROM's.

I'm sure the minor bugs will get worked out soon. Nice to see all this development for the M8.

Interesting, and thanks for the heads up. I thought the unlocked bootloader meant I could use any ROM. Also I was thinking to try some ROM's to see if it gets rid of the reboot and then freeze up on the verizon splash screen problem I am having, but I think I would rather deal with that than the other issues you have mentioned.
