carbon ROM has nightlies. no thread as of yet but I see in goo manager and people are reporting its running beautifully.
Nice find, I saw/posted in that thread as well. I wasn't sure before if I should throw it up or not since no one had tested it yet but looks like its good to go! :good:

It's fine to link to other people's goo's right? Just want to make sure since they didn't post up a thread on the rom yet or anything!

Haha I was talking about the thread someone posted in the General Forum saying that there are Carbon nightlies available - I thought that's what you were referring to when you said people were saying it was running well cause that's what people were posting :cyclops:

And actually some guy just made a thread for the Carbon Rom in the Original Development forum as a placeholder until Carbon makes their own thread if they do. :victory:

Is original development the same as the standard development area but just AOSP roms?
Picking up a Sprint S4 tomorrow.
Thanks

Here is a quote from our friendly neighborhood moderator Kennyglass123 posted in his stickied thread that explains the difference.

The following are most likely “Original Development”:

*Official releases of highly original and upstream custom ROMs (built from the ground up with significant original development within them
*Official releases/development of such original ROMs, perhaps posted by the maintainer or their nominated person.
*A significant “first” in development for a device. Significant is subjective, but it is likely something which took considerable time/effort, and is generally accepted by developers to be significant and non-trivial.
*Kernels which are built with beneficial changes that are not simply pulled from other kernels already available. Some element of original work is expected.
*Tools and utilities with a clear purpose, and which are well-made, and useful to users. They should have an element of originality, either in purpose or through significant improvement in the means of operation.
*Significant port of a ROM from one device to another, giving enhanced features or functionality to users of the target device. The port should be beneficial (a port from two virtually identical devices isn’t original development, it’s winzipping, and nobody really benefits from this, as it’s not development)

The following are most likely not “Original Development”, and should be posted in the “Android Development” subforum:

*Your own “unofficial” stock build of your favorite original, source-built (or otherwise) ROM, particularly where an official or maintainer-endorsed thread exists already.
*Minor derivatives of other ROMs with little or no changes, or ROMs consisting of “placebo” features as a main constituent or claim.
*Renames or rebadges of others’ work – these don’t belong on XDA at all! Refer to rule 12 for more information.
*Reposts of existing ROMs with small changes (i.e. kitchen work, such as adding a couple of apps). If you could realistically distribute your changes as an “addon pack” above and beyond a ROM, you should do so. In addition, your “ROM” would not be original development as it would be substantially identical to the original ROM.
*A thread created with unrealistic goals that are clearly unachievable by those starting the thread. This is not intended to discourage high aspirations, rather to prevent threads porting Windows Phone 8 to the HTC Wallaby. This is pretty much common sense.
*A ROM where a main or significant claim/feature is graphical changes to the user interface (ie. Themed ROM)

Lots of stuff in the last couple days! Updates to Ktoonez and Faux kernel, as well as new AOSP Aces Kernel. Illusion rom, Avatar Rom (AOSP/MIUI Hybrid), Halo coming out for some AOSP roms, and update to Blue Kuban!

Plus some miscellaneous updates to Crossbreeder, etc.

P.S. I'm writing out the little summary of what's new just so I can make sure I take note of everything new/updated since the last update of list, plus people can correct me if I missed something, etc!

Went ahead and actually tried to clean up the thread and make it a little more visually appealing since the list was getting pretty long.

I know it's not much but its better then just a long list of links lol! If anyone is interested in making some actual nice banners/images, feel free to PM me :good::good::good:

The NOS mod, now called Project Injector or something like that, and it is fully compatible with Crossbreeder like it says in the thread.

Just when installing NOS it will let you choose which of the components of it individually you want to install and you have to make sure to NOT install the Entropy mod as that will interfere with Crossbreeder as it essentially tries to do the same thing.

With NOS, Crossbreeder, Ktoonz kernel with a bunch of tweaks, I have no a single issue with lag performance or etc, and it actually flies in every category.

BTW it's Crossbreeder isn't supposed to like magically make your phone eight million times faster, but it is definitely noticeable. Try out the two mods together, they work great.

Official CWM for jfltespr is now available at ClockworkMod. Add this link to the OP: http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager
Nice find, makes my life easier

Will throw it up once I get to my PC!

Is there any AOSP style messaging app for the Sprint GS4 with working MMS?!
As in an AOSP messaging app that works on Touchwiz? I don't think so :/ One of my biggest gripes with TW is definitely the native messaging app. There is someone in the Themes and App forum that's made one working with AOSP roms but they are also currently working on a version compabitable with TW apparently so I'd keep an eye out for that!

providing this thread.

Can you include a link to the stock kernel(s) as well. Occasionally, there is a need to go back to one. I'm having a hard time find it.

Thanks!
I think you only wrote half of that first sentence :p

But will do bud, just updated the thread with the stock MDL Rom, kernel, and recovery, wasn't sure if I was gonna include the stock stuff in the thread but I don't see why not - especially if people are looking to start fresh!
