I'll upload the latest versions tomorrow night.

The FAQ , should have the info there . You also need to be rooted . FAQ located in my mediafire folder

And the last two release loaded fine without modification . But I still removed the app store verification just in case .

So if you extract the fire TV apk it should work just fine.

The regular android apk also works but it requires a keybord and a mouse ..I am guessing we are very close to an official android tv release.

I may be wrong, but I think it could have been released "officially" a long time ago. My bet is Apple paid a nice chunk of cash to have it "not work" on Android TV and Chromecast via Shield TV.

for the sake of argument, Im gonna go with youre wrong. ;)

Makes no financial sense because there are far bigger competitors to Apple/Apple TV than android tv (think fire devices, roku devices, android phones, literally just about every other device except android tv devices). Not sure what you mean about chromecast via shield tv as you can cast directv now from any android phone to the shield tv.

The fire tv app has worked great on the Shield for quite a while now. There's no other reason, in my mind, for not releasing it or a modified version.

The Shield TV has chromecast built-in. Casting DirectvNow to it from an Android TV device has never worked correctly. Either no video or no audio, or no nothing. It has, for the most part, worked just fine casting to an "actual" Chromecast (not Shield TV).

So your theory is money. What makes you think Apple would pay more to keep it off of android tv than what they would gain financially by doing so? It makes no sense, Apple doesn't make money off the service, only the hardware it sells. android tv devices are no competition at all to apple tv. Fire devices alone are far bigger, why wouldnt apple pay off Amazon? just doesnt add up.

Just curious, why would you want to cast from an Android TV device to a Shield TV ?

Money and Power. It's a theory of mine, you can take it or leave it. I don't have time to back and forth.

The Shield TV is an Android TV (box). You can use it on smart TV's or dumb TV's.

I think they really want to lock it down to their anyday now android streaming box? .

So for the time being we will have continue getting in from that other android streaming stick/tv . That they gladly support. The fire TV/stick . Lol

I believe Achilles and I chatted about this a couple weeks or months ago and found out that the app Says beta only when installed on an Android TV device, plus we get 5.1 Audio on majority of the channels ?
