I have a Sprint Moto X that was rooted with PwnMyMoto.

I have been getting notified of an OTA update, but don't want to accept it in case I would lose root.

Is there a way to disable the update notifications?

Does anybody know how to keep root after the OTA?

There are a couple threads on how to keep root after an ota.

But that being said I am also looking to remove the update apk.

Does anyone know which one it is?

3c_ota.apk?

freeze update, Motorola OTA, and FOTA and rename otacerts.zip to otacerts.zip.bak in \etc\security i think is the location

wish there was an app to do this for us, I am tired of having to go through a million steps, I would rather pay for this to get done so I can preserve my root with no worries until further development

smart man, if you accept it, it sends you into an endless boot loop.

yea, I need the steps too. I went ahead and uninstalled a system app that said OTA, but will not know for sure until later if that fixed my issue

Does motorola connect still work when these are stopped? I mainly ask because with droidwall MotoOTA is grouped in with the MotoConnect services. I'm thinking I want to use MotoConnect but I don't really care for or want updates.

MotorolaOTA does not allow to be frozen on 4.4.3

if there was another small oled phone this one would be on the garbage already...

worst software. manages to be more annoying than Samsung.

yah bro

I used Titanium backup to uninstall the OTA updates, find it under "Motorola Update Services 24.00.007" and simply uninstall it. Or you could use the app FlashFIre
