Disappointed in the camera

Photos seem much better for me.
the only thing is that you should learn how to use it.
As for dark photos, just focus on a dark area and the photos will become brighter. The software is trying to use the best settings for the focused area. So if the focus is on a bright area it will dim the photo to have a better visibility on the focus and will brighten the picture if you focus on a dark area.

As for the OIS, I am really missing it.

The Mate 20 Pro does have OIS, so not sure why you would be missing it?

Bump....

I too am disappointed with the M20 pro camera, mostly indoors in not so good (but hardly terrible) light the images are really quite soft

Looking at the exif it always seems to choose a really low shutter speed and as others have said no OIS on the main camera. Like I said disappointing, I am on .238, no idea if there are any camera improvements to come on .266 or 9.1?

.266 has a later camera version that I find performs better
