Just download and flash an ENTIRE ftf (not just kernel), with wipe boxes ticked.

Sent from my C6603 using xda app-developers app
I flashed the following ROM

[STOCK ROM][FTF] Xperia Z (C6603) 10.3.1.A.0.244 Generic NL (Unbranded/Netherlands)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2386840

and it worked :)

For some reason it went without the button-pressing, I just connected the phone and it started.

Thank you so much. I am relieved beyond imagination. :) You guys really helped me out.

Hi nut,

I also have a bricked Z .
I am not sure how the phone was bricked as i received it that way.

The phone does have led response, 3 flashes or 10 seconds then off depending on presses, but no vibrate.
When connected i get QHSUSB_DLOAD

I got hold of a cradle for charging to see if that was the problem left it for a few hours but still no luck (will leave overnight too)

I did manage to force some sort of qualcom driver on but to no avail could do it again if needed

Hope you can help :)

anyhow put the phone to charge today as it showed three red blinks when started and surprise the sony logo appears and the animation with battery charging .. let the phone charge till green light and am able to boot into os ... the pc shows the phone as Xperia Zl in flashtool sus or pc companion and everything seems to be working as nothing happened

i will start the phone and it will vibrate but nothing appears on screen ... and leave it like this for a couple of hours ... until battery is completely drained aka not starting when i pres power button
plug the phone to wall socket and let it charge for a bit
i power it on and voila.... sony logo and battery charge animation

Now i am quite intrigued to find out what i am missing ... what is changing in the state of the phone that after battery depletion can boot properly?
I think that we're one of the few ZL owners that have that same problem..
everytime I turn off the phone, I can not turn it on again (it's soft-bricked) so I have to wait for few hours and then I can charge it again and turn it on again
I searched a lot through forums, but I never found that same problem, until now.
I never unlocked bootloader (i'm kind of new with smartphones..), the first time that that happened was, when I updated device through update service in phone settings and when I tried to turn it on nothing happened.. then I flashed official sony ftf' roms with flashtool and it's always the same (soft-brick)
on the first page says you should try to repair softbrick with flashing the kernel with fastboot mode, is it like this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXTzA7Qrrv4
where can I get stock Sony kernel image for ZL C6503 (10.4.1.B.0.101) 4.3?

thanks for any advices and help

I have a refuseboot problem.

I read your guide but have still a question.

Where i can find the stock-kernel image?

Edit: i used the second method and it works.
which one did you mean by second method?
fastboot for kernel or flashmode & fastboot for reunlocking?

my phone is not relocked, it just wont turn on when I turn it off, I have to wait for a few hours and then I can turn it on again (I even changed the battery, but I have the same problem..)
another strange thing was, several times when I turned it on (after a few hours) the battery was at 1%, but when I turned it off was fully charged..

---------- Post added at 04:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:19 PM ----------

before the last flash the battery was somewhere at 15% ... i will start the phone and it will vibrate but nothing appears on screen ... and leave it like this for a couple of hours ... until battery is completely drained aka not starting when i pres power button
plug the phone to wall socket and let it charge for a bit
i power it on and voila.... sony logo and battery charge animation

Had more time to kill
went back and unlocked the bootloader, installed back cm10.2 and restored the back-up i had previously with all the apps installed
phone still would not boot so i let it open in cwm till fully discharged again ... connected it to wall socket and now am able to boot into cm10.2

will have to do more research/learn more about how bootloader / os startup works ... but for now does this behavior seem normal?
did you find out what the problem was?

My ZL doesn't start anymore.

I've tried re-flashing some stock roms via flashtools and a recovery with SUS.
But it continue to show only the SONY logo and then die...

How is this possible? I bought it 2-months ago...

I'm kinda disappointed with sony. My wife has an Xperia SP and after the last official update, the system has turned into a nightmare...

I'm trying to follow your guide to recover from a bootstall, Update service just tells me I have the latest version and flashtool sits on "Preparing files for flashing" Have I bricked my phone or am I just a fool of a took?
I am using an Xperia Z1 C6903
I was in the process of going from C6903_14.2.A.0.290 to C6903_14.3.A.0.681.
I was following the 20/03/2014 update, which said that I could follow the last few steps. Everything fell apart whilst I was in recovery, when I was doing that actual install via the zip.
After confirming the flash, the phone turned off during installation. Which as I type I fear already does not bode well for me.

It actually sounds a bit like your battery just ran out... but you do see a sony logo when you power up your device?
