Hello everyone, I apologize in advance for my English.

My xperia z (c6603) fell to the ground: now my LCD ok but my touch and glass are broken.

I have bought a new full display (lcd + touch + glass + chassis)
I reinstalled everything but now when I turn on my phone lcd panel LEDs light up but the screen REMAINING ALL BLACK.

I have already tried to restore the firmware with flashtool following the guide (soft-brick) on this forum but unfortunately the phone doesn't work.

I tried to connect the old LCD that worked before, but now even the old lcd lights but remains black.

what can I do?
Thank you

My xperia Z seems to be dead, but I can still get into fastboot/recovery so I'm hoping there might be something I can do.

Whatever ROM I flash (lollipop), it just keeps booting indefinitely (after the first flash it gets to Android is updating, but just gets stuck on Starting Apps. If I reboot, the boot animation carries on forever.

I used flashtool to flash some old 4.x ROMs, which did finish booting, but would reboot before the system was useable. (Different ROMs gave different results, one was just a black screen with a clock, battery indicator, service indicator and navigation bar, another managed to give me a lock screen and notification bar too).

I'm thinking some sort of corruption of the storage, because if I try to flash a system.sin file through fastboot, I get a data too large error, and if I try to format system,
I get "formatting is not supported for filesystem with type ''."

It's frustrating, because I still have access to everything I need to fix the phone, I just can't get anything to work.

Any ideas before I give up?

i probably unlocked bootloader using fastboot.
but still the problem remain same
currently phone is blinking 3 times red and no bootup and continuously in flash mode (got to know from flash tool ).
now suggest me rom and steps that can be used to revive my phone (it becomes 5 days my phone is dead).
one thing i want to add in this regard is that now sony pc companion do not flashes this phone..

Hey guys,
I got an Xperia Z with broken screen. I already have the replacement.
I opened the phone, took out the battery, but it maybe damaged while I was tooking it out.
Can I not turn the phone on without battery? Anyone tried it?
I have only a SONY logo with blacklight on and off in bootloop
when I connect the phone to charger without battery.
With battery I see only the red LED is blinking, the phone can not switch on.
I flashed it already with Flashtool, it works with blue led when I connect to PC
and green while I connect to flash it.

Locked Bootloader - Soft Bricked. Please help.

If this post is in the wrong thread, please tell me and I'll move it. I thought I'd put it here since I tried many of the things listed in the first few posts.

Phone is a C6606 (T-Mobile Xperia Z)

I had been running Rajeev's Ultimate XZ ROM (v5.1) for the last several months.

Phone began acting strangely a couple days ago. I would randomly power down without warning. Only way to get it rebooted was to take out the external SD card and plug in the USB cable then power it on. Sometimes even that would take a couple of attempts.

I assumed the power issue was hardware related and have ordered a new phone. But, thought I'd try to get her up and running by installing the ROM again - thinking it might be a firmware issue. Anyway, I was in the process of re-installing the ROM and had the phone unplugged. It powered down on me again. :(

Now it won't get past the SONY logo. I can get a blue LED light when I try to get it into fastboot. But, when I try to flash the stock boot.img at the fastboot prompt all I get is a message that its waiting for the device - like fastboot doesn't see it.

I can also get Emma (latest SONY flashtool) to recognize it. Problem is, it's a locked bootloader and SONY says it cannot be unlocked. So, Emma says I can't install the FTF file because the bootloader is locked.

Question is can I get the thing to accept a ROM with the bootloader locked and the phone in this condition, or is it something I have to go to a professional to get fixed? If I can do it... please tell me how.

Thanks for all your help, guys. I appreciate it.

I apologize. I just realized I was supposed to be using the Androxyde flashtool and not the SONY flashtool. Got that straight. Now I got her up and running. Problem is the unit still powers down at varying intervals when not connected to a charging cable. AND it isn't recognized by adb when connected to my PC - even though all drivers are installed and the unit is in debugging mode. I'm thinking it's most likely a hardware problem.

Sorry I bothered you guys.

Xperia ZL nothing works

Xperia ZL C6503
It started out as shutting off randomly, sometimes i got a chance to insert my pin and then shut off again..
Other times it just loaded the Sony + Xperia logo and shut off.

Now when i try to turn it on it just shows the Sony logo and turns off instantly.
When i connect it to a PC it doesn't even show the Sony logo when i try to boot but every minute it connects/disconnects in flash mode.
Code:
01/020/2015 18:20:31 - INFO - Device connected in flash mode
01/021/2015 18:21:21 - INFO - Device disconnected
01/021/2015 18:21:32 - INFO - Device connected in flash mode
01/022/2015 18:22:33 - INFO - Device disconnected
01/023/2015 18:23:30 - INFO - Device connected in flash mode
01/024/2015 18:24:34 - INFO - Device disconnected
01/025/2015 18:25:06 - INFO - Device connected in flash mode
01/026/2015 18:26:06 - INFO - Device disconnected
01/026/2015 18:26:38 - INFO - Device connected in flash mode
01/027/2015 18:27:39 - INFO - Device disconnected
01/028/2015 18:28:11 - INFO - Device connected in flash mode
And if i connect it to a wall charger it gets stuck in an infinite bootloop with a red LED and doesn't start charging.
I've tried fixing via Sony PC Companion which didn't work and also tried flashing with a C6503_10.5.1.A.0.292_Customized_NCB.ftf (whatever that is) which didn't work either..
Not sure what i should do.. The instructions aren't very clear and i'm not familiar with all these terms.

Thought I had solidified my phone into a brick, but thanks again to this guide it was still soft :) I guess I didn't have the right adb drivers since updating to windows 10. Was trying everything, downloaded adb again from another post, and flashtool finally took.

Thanks again for these guides. Now I can finally sell this thing.

I have had my fair share of problems getting out of all kinds of tricky situations. :fingers-crossed: I thought it would be nice to share my knowledge and experience with the good folks on XDA :)

Using this guide you can get out of the following problems:
  • Bootloop: Sony logo -> Xperia logo and/or bootanim followed by a reboot
  • Bootstall: Sony logo appears, nothing else happens
  • Soft-brick: Phone vibrates when you try to turn it on, nothing else happens, not even the screen turns on! (Formerly named Refuseboot)
A bootloop occurs when your rom has missing or corrupted files or otherwise an incomplete system partition.
A bootstall is caused by a heavily corrupted system partition to the extent you could say it is nolonger there... or an android service that fails to start during init.
A soft-brick can be caused by either a corrupted TA partition or by relocking your phone while you have a custom kernel image still on it (big oops! and yes: I have been in that situation myself :silly: )

Xperia Z: Testing functionality before we start...
Bootloop/bootstall: Try to reboot your phone by holding down the POWER and the VOL-UP buttons at the same time for a few seconds. If it reboots, you can be happy! :highfive:
Soft-brick: If you can feel your phone vibrate when trying to power it on, even when your screen does not turn on, you can also be happy! :fingers-crossed:

The above functionality SHOULD also work on the Z1 and the ZU.

Xperia ZL: Testing functionality before we start...
The ZL has a small reset switch behind the lid where your SIM card goes. You need a pen or something similar to operate it and it should be labeled 'reset' or 'off' inside the case. To reset your phone, you will need to use this switch. The selection between Fastboot (Vol-up) or Flashmode (vol-down) however is the same.

Xperia ZU: Testing functionality before we start...
The ZU also has a small reset switch behind the lid where your SIM card goes. You need a pen or something similar to operate it and it should be labeled 'reset' or 'off' inside the case. To reset your phone, you will need to use this switch. The selection between Fastboot (Vol-up) or Flashmode (vol-down) however is the same.

Now that we know we can re-/boot your phone, you have a way out of this problematic situation! :victory:

FOR EX- CM/AOSP/AOKP/PAC USERS
When you found this topic while searching for help on returning to STOCK after having CM/PAC/AOSP/AOKP installed on your phone, please visit the following thread:
[GUIDE] How to revert your phone from CM/AOSP/AOKP/PAC to STOCK
This will help you on your quest to return to the STOCK side ;)

FLASHMODE: bootloop & bootstall

Sony Update Service and PC Companion

  1. Open SUS/PC Companion on your PC
  2. Walk through until you get instructed to hold key and connect cable
  3. Connect your USB cable to your phone
  4. Hold POWER and VOL-UP to reboot
  5. As soon as your screen goes black, release POWER and slide your finger to VOL-DOWN pressing it (Do it quickly, otherwise it wont work!)
  6. SUS should detect your phone and begin flashing your phone
  7. Your phone should boot up normally again when SUS is done. :good:

As we are using SUS there is a warning to issue here:

THIS WILL DESTROY ALL DATA ON YOUR PHONE!

Consider yourself warned...

FLASHTOOL

  1. Open Flashtool on your PC
  2. Either:
    • Deselect everything except system, walk through until you get instructed to hold key and connect cable
    • Walk through until you get instructed to hold key and connect cable, without deselecting anything specific, thus selecting to flash the whole FTF.
  3. Connect your USB cable to your phone
  4. Hold POWER and VOL-UP to reboot
  5. As soon as your screen goes black, release POWER and slide your finger to VOL-DOWN pressing it (Do it quickly, otherwise it wont work!)
  6. Flashtool should detect your phone and begin flashing your phone
  7. Your phone should boot up normally again when Flashtool is done. :good:

As we are using FLASHTOOL there is a warning to issue here:

MAKE YOUR CHOICES WISELY OR YOU RISK DESTROYING ALL DATA ON YOUR PHONE!
Consider yourself warned... again!

FASTBOOT MODE: soft-brick

FASTBOOT FOR KERNEL

  1. Connect your USB cable to your phone
  2. Either:
    • Hold POWER and VOL-UP to reboot, on the instance your phone vibrates, release POWER but hold on to VOL-UP;
    • Press POWER, on the instance you feel your phone vibrate, press and hold VOL-UP;
  3. If successful your phone will show a blue led to signal it is in fastboot mode.
  4. Use the fastboot tool to flash the stock Sony kernel image.
  5. Your phone should boot up normally again when fastboot is done. :good:

CONSIDER YOURSELF LUCKY YOU CAN STILL USE YOUR PHONE IF YOU LOSE ANY DATA!!

FLASHMODE & FASTBOOT FOR (RE-)UNLOCKING USING FLASHTOOL

  1. Start Flashtool, open up BLU (have your unlock key at the ready!).
  2. Connect your USB cable to your phone
  3. Either:
    • Hold POWER and VOL-UP to reboot, on the instance your phone vibrates, release POWER and slide down to VOL-DOWN;
    • Press POWER, on the instance you feel your phone vibrate, press and hold VOL-DOWN;
  4. Flashtool should recognise your phone and prepares it for unlocking.
  5. On the next step Flashtool needs your phone to reconnect in fastboot
[*] Disconnect USB cable and wait at least 10 seconds before reconnecting.
[*]Connect your USB cable to your phone
    [*]Either:
    • Hold POWER and VOL-UP to reboot, on the instance your phone vibrates, release POWER but hold on to VOL-UP;
    • Press POWER, on the instance you feel your phone vibrate, press and hold VOL-UP;
[*]If successful your phone will show a blue led to signal it is in fastboot mode.
[*]Flashtool should detect your phone and begin unlocking your phone
[*]Your phone should boot up normally again when Flashtool is done. :good:

CONSIDER YOURSELF LUCKY YOU CAN STILL USE YOUR PHONE IF YOU LOSE ANY DATA!!

And yes, I personally have been dealing with all the above due to sleep deprived stupidity the past 4 weeks ... But my Z is still very much alive and kicking! :cowboy:

thanks very much

What model are we talking about here?

Did you try to remove SIM and SDCard already?

Are you sure you are flashing the correct ROM? Do you flash everything (and wiping everything) when using flashtool?

This xperia zl phone is not mine phone, I would like to revive the phone. I did try to update few different FTF firmwares using FlashTool and sony pc companion. All this tools looks like working ,only Flash tool at the end was giving me the warning that to be able to use flashTool require to unable option in settings that makes me wondering.
After updating the TFT firmware the phone reacts exactly same way as before updating a firmware :after pressing power no vibration only red light blinks 3 times.I'm able go access download mode and by pressing volume up I can access as well fastmode (blue solid light) .When the phone is plug to charger it will show xperia logo for 2sec and infinity bootloops .When I press reset button located inside close to card slots and plug the charger the pfone vibrates once , space 2 sec and vibrates 3 times .
I m wondering if its possible the battery could be bad or hardware or software issue. The phone was not modify just happen to be dead.
Any help, idea how to revive the phone very much appreciate.
