AOSP Extended is an AOSP based rom which provides stock UI/UX with various customisations features along with the Substratum theme engine. The project has been made by cherry-picking various commits from various other projects. Being based on AOSP it provides a smooth and lag-free experience out of the box. We will constantly try to add more features and make it even better in future updates. A ROM by a user, for a user. #StayAOSP #ExtendYourDevice #BeExtended

Thanks - definitely going to take this for a test drive. Two quick questions:
- appears a root manager may be integrated; Magisk/SuperSU needed?
- assume MicroG reference means 'support for' vs integrated GAaps package

- Flash Magisk - root is not integrated
- micro-g support is included
- Flash your desired gapps package.

Thanks. I will probably go with the latest SuperSU and traditional GAaps as I'm familiar with the former and comfortable taming the latter. Stability is essential for my daily drivers (phone and tablet).

No disrespect for Magisk and Micro-G. Both are maturing nicely and may work their way into my portfolio at some point.

Installed smoothly and appears to play nice w/Xposed (official). UX is clean and offers many of the tweaks that previously required Xposed. So far no radio or camera issues. Didn't choke on my fussy messaging apps; Lineage and RR demand a SIM card. Toughest decision may be whether to go with this or Slim. The latter is a bit leaner appealing to my minimalistic side. Damn you, @ggow, for serving up several high quality Nougat ROMs for this aging device. Makes deciding tough! :)

Is this to say that the weird camera issues and SIM card issues with Hangouts are gone? What a great day to brick my device! Time to start fresh

Thank you @ggow and @Davey126!

SIM card maybe - especially you got spammed with "Insert SIM card" dialogs in Hangouts. No fix yet for dark camera images in marginal lighting.

ROM is definitely growing on me; zero bad behaviors to date.

Did Wi-Fi issue become better on this rom?
To date I have not experienced any WiFi related issues. Connections to several APs are made quickly/reliably. However, I am operating in a 2.4 GHz rich environment with no strong 5 GHz signals nearby. Mixed signal environments can be problematic for this device for reasons I believe are not ROM related.

This Rom is so great, i have used this Rom before with my mobile.

I am so happy that this Rom is ported to our Kindle.

Very smooth as usual, and no rotation bug an more with me :victory:

I havent faced any issuse with Wifi. With Camera use Open Camera.

I have nothings to ask for more, thanks @ggow for still supporting this aged device!

Cheers

I'm not seeing any WiFi dropouts on this rom at all.

FMRadio is mentioned... ahh, didn't think that was part of the HDX?
I'm assuming the 4G / LTE thing mentioned is just cosmetic right? I'm guessing we don't magically now have LTE working :p

installed and test about few days.
WIFI connection is much better for unknown reason ( only face it once when i use the auto off wifi in Automate, after switch off the flow, wifi never dropped until now)
battery consumption around 0.7/hour(idle) please share your tweaks too.
bluetooth music , still stutter as usual .
Not sure is hdx or rom issue, when i perform antutu benchmark, music stuttered(benchmark music) .is this normal ?Because i never perform benchmark in Slim 7.

I am working on LTE ongoing but you're right it's still not working.
FM radio is not part of hdx. Will clean up OP at next opportunity

There are no additional tweaks to share over lineage device trees.

Been rocking this ROM for nearly a week and have opted to make it my daily driver. Looks/feels like AOSP but has numerous extensions for those seeking additional customization w/o Xposed. That said, it plays nice with the official SDK25 framework and several modules that I tried. Rock solid with no WiFi or BT pairing issues to date. Pretty dang happy...not an easy feat according to my better half.

Tip-of-the-hat to @ggow for bring this fine addition to the HDX ROM suite. :)

Curious if you foresee AEX 5.x coming to this device? Not poking at commits or ETA as v4.6 continues to satisfy all my needs and plays nice with the HW. But curiosity looms ...

Yes, I think it's a possibility. I have started working on lineage-15.1. If I can get that to work then we should be able to derive AEX 5.x.
