Thanks so much, Just wanted to say I flashed the Jan 26 Nightly to my Nook Color along with the Gapps package and it's so sweet. I will play with it a few days and give feedback if issues arise. Thanks for continuing this work. It's very much appreciated.

I'll look into doing that, and will hopefully have an updated version soon!
I have been trying all day to make a bigger image.zip for SD installs, but since I only have Windows on my machine I'm not having much luck. It really needs too be done on Linux. I hope Sam gets it done since several folks use the SD install and need it for the new nightlies.

But I do have some really good news. I said in some earlier posts that the homemade minor fix zips could not be installed with the SD recovery script. I have since discovered that there was some kind of error in the fix bootanimation zip that Sam made. And that's the one that kept erroring out. I tested the script with the wifi SOD fix that I made and it worked with no errors. And I don't know why Sam's failed, it's almost identical to mine except for being to fix boot animation instead of wifi SOD.

Anyway, I made a new install zip that fixes wifi SOD, boot animation and telephony. I named it with gapps-gb- on the front so it will work with both SD and emmc installs.

For SD installs, put the nightly zip and the file from here in the boot partition. (assuming Sam fixes the image so they both fit.) Then reboot into SD recovery. It will install the nightly followed immediately by installing the fixes. If you need to install the real gapps, after flashing those two put just the real gapps file in boot by itself.

For emmc installs, after flashing the nightly just flash this file. It will fix all three issues.

Get the file here:

Edit: I just found where the extra files are that makes the nightlies bigger. There are six new mp4 videos in /system/media/video. (3 videos, each in 2 resolutions). They take up 10MB of space. I don't know what they are for, but they are cool. They might be for some kind of boot video.

Edit2: The reason that the file is named gapps-gb- in front is for SD install users. If I named it update-, the install script would think it was a nightly and get very confused when you put it together with the real nightly (it might install the fix before the nightly and the nightly will undo the fixes). If you named it anything else, the script would ignore it. Emmc users can name it anything you like as long as it ends in zip.

Jan 26 nightly

This one seems a little faster on my Nook. Thanks for all the hard work guys.

I would still like to see a New and Weather app with a menu button so I can change the content.

But the SOD problems seems to be fixed with the combo patch and everything else seems to work like a charm.

Thanks again.

I'm trying to get the latest nightly on my sd card and it keeps saying that there is not enough space. What's up with that? I've partitioned my card more than once, and I should have a huge amount of space on my boot partition, but its just not working. Anyone else have this?

Nevermind: fixed it.

1/26 is money Sam,deep sleep ,smooth,no SOD w/ patch. Great job to the Devs and thx for hosting/compiling . Only issue so far is the system clock settings revert back to Max 800 and conservative after boot. Controlling with CPU master and it is sticking after boot.

The rest are here.

@Samiam: Any chance you can add these two links to the OP?

Whats the story with long press overlay for power? Looks like it was patched in but has anyone actually ported over the power settings?

Only thing that I need fixed is the wifi sleep policy so that it wakes back up when the device is turned back on or stays awake while the device is downloading data over wifi, but no biggy I just use the keep wifi awake while plugged in for now and do all downloads via plugged in.

also why hasn't the boot image been ported to the encore only github?

I thought I would give a little explanation how the installs differ between normal CWM and the SD recoveries.

With CWM, it gives control to the script that is built into the zip. In the case of nightlies, the script first, after verifying that the prior install was for the right version of CM, backs up your gapps if they were installed. Then it formats /system so nothing is there. Then it installs itself to /system, followed by restoring the gapps it saved earlier. Then goes through a bunch of housekeeping tasks like fixing permissions and adding symlinks. Lastly it updates your files in /boot (kernel, ramdisk, MLO, and uboot).

With the SD install, the zip files must be named properly before it will even begin to install, even if they are in the boot partition. For properly named zips, it ignors most of the script built into them and substitutes its own script. It does not format /system, it just copies the files in the zip over it. That means if there were files there that are not in the zip (like gapps), they stay there. Then it changes a bunch of things like pointing to the right partitions in the SD card instead of emmc. It also does housekeeping things based on the original script built into the zip. It also modifies the ramdisk file built into the zip so that it points to the right partitions too and will boot to SD and copies that to /boot. Verygreen did an amazing job writing that script.

So you can see there are basic differences in how they are installed.

Thanks, leapinlar! I opened the zip file, removed the videos and the new file size of 104mb was perfect. I was able to install the last nightly with no problem. The videos are nice and if I decide to use any of them, I will add them to my sd card as I would any other file.
