:( I prefer Swype. Waiting for the ICS version.

I ran NSR (Nook Screen Recalibrator available in the Market, free) and while it may be my imagination, it feels like my screen is more responsive.
i tried it on a 1/20 nightly and it seemed to make a huge difference
i havent used it yet on the 1/27 nightly and dont think i need it... other than perhaps phantom touches. ill might run it today and see if it makes much of a difference.

i lived swype, but since its not available for cm9, i been using using the slideit demo . it seems cheesy to me at first, big bubbly interface, but the recognition is great; does both slide and touch, as well as some random feature to script like on a palm (that i dont recommend). also, you can scale it arbitrarily, which is nice.

Since I am playing with the CM9 nightlies, I'd have to update the .prop file every night so for now....I'll put up with the slow boot.

Great tip!
But that is the beauty of putting the line in local.prop. Since it is in /data, it does not get changed with a flash of a new nightly. (Unless you wipe data every time.) It is persistent then. Also the trick works on CM7, but I don't think CM7 supports local.prop, only build.prop. Which means every time you flash CM7, you would have to re-edit the build.prop. But not many are flashing CM7 since the nightly builds stopped.

Edit: I was wrong. CM7 DOES support local.prop. So you could put anything you would normally put in build.prop into local.prop in /data and it will survive a flash to a new ROM (assuming you do not wipe data).

It seems new SGX530 driver has been released and some people from (CM9/ICS Work-In-Progress) are testing it with good result
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21940891&postcount=1792

Is that possible to implement to the Nightly Build?

Thanks in advance.
Yeah, as leapinlar stated, these nightlies are built from the source provided by the developers who are working on the project. Once they're done testing it and it's proven stable enough for daily use, it'll be merged into the source and then it'll show up in the nightlies.

Exciting! I've been holding off on installing a nightly until video acceleration happened. Here I was thinking this morning that I probably won't ever update from Sneakpeak2, and low and behold a driving has appeared. Can't wait!

The modified verygreen image linked in the first post does not let me boot into recovery. I am sorry if it has been discussed before but I cannot go through so many pages in this thread. I tried the sneak2 a while ago and went back to using CM7 for a while. Then last night I spent a couple of hours trying out the latest nightly and I had a few problems. The new image creates the boot partition that is smaller than the latest nightly. So I expanded it first. Then I installed and booted into ICS, connected to the internet and copied all the patch zips into the SD card and booted from it. I was hoping to see the CWM and apply other patches one by one. But it wouldn't let me do that. It applied the gapps update and shut down the tablet. When I tried again, it tried applying other updates and kept shutting down on me.

Went to bed after using it for a little bit and this morning had a sleep of death. That means it did not apply the patch. Also, the battery is draining pretty fast. Finally, the touch sensitivity is pretty bad. Most buttons and areas need a nice firm push instead of the light touch that CM7 needs. Strangely, ICS keyboard works well with the gentle touch I am used to from CM7 so it is not consistent.

I think I would go back to using CM7 while browsing these boards for any developments for another month or so. Thanks guys for all the hard work you are doing. Much appreciated!

There is no CWM recovery on SD installs. See my earlier post here:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21689389

Also the bootanimation fix zip from Sam's site fails on SD installs for some reason. Try my combo zip here:

Cool! How about some big banners, balloons, and fireworks when it does. I will be switching back when this occurs (CM7 is just snappier).

That is weird because when I used Verygreen's original image, I could go into recovery and flash gapps, if I remember correctly. The only way to verify that would be to redo what I did back then. And I am not sure I will have enough time to try that so I'll just take your word for it. And thanks for the combo link. Will try it later.

Hello all,

Just thought I would through out a flashable zip to fix SuperUser for SD card install users. This is by all means not my work, just the normal file found on their website...I take no credit except for putting "update" in the front. :) Flash like any other SD update. All in all this runs very good on SD card, up until now I have been building for internal. After flashing the rom, gapps and your fixes I noticed that my SU was bunk. If anyone else has this issue just drop the attached file and boot into SD recovery and it will magically be fixed. BTW, after applying your fix I still had a SOD today...bummer.

Cheers

I also have had one SOD on CM9 after installing the patch.

This modded wifi module was created for CM7 by a user (Embedded) on the Cyanogenmod forum. Since CM9 uses the same kernel and wifi module as CM7, I decided to try it to see if it helped. It did. But apparently does not stop all SODs.

If this continues to be a problem on CM9, maybe dalingrin can whip out his toolkit and make a modded kernel for us like he did on CM7.

Oh it has a recovery, just not a "ClockWorkMod (CWM)" recovery. It is a special recovery written by Verygreen and works like I described in my quoted post above.

hi all...
i went ahead and loaded the 1/29 nightly and it was a little sluggish but after letting it settle for the night it seems better today.. the only problem that bothers me with the build is something im sure can be modded but probably just cant seem to find the edit for it .. the apps in the app drawer seem a bit large for me.. is there a way to make them smaller.. ive used LCD Density Modder before on my phone to make the apps smaller but it seems like the settings on this according to that app is already at 160 which should be smaller then the app icons are...is there any way to make them smaller? any help would be appreciated...

Hooray! I finally did it. I made an enlarged Generic SD card image file. It is now 203MB instead of 117MB. Plenty of room for any installation zips you want to put there. Just install this image to your SD card per the instructions in the original thread. Use Win32DiskImager in windows or the dd command in Linux. It will wipe out anything on your card, so use Titanium Backup or other software to backup first if you need to.

Get the file here (38MB zip):

http://d01.megashares.com/index.php?d01=NcUqquQ

Edit: Sam, feel free to put this on your server if you like.

Edit2: Sam did put this on his server and you can get there faster and it is compressed smaller too (8MB). Go to his first post on this thread.

How are you trying to install? CWM boot SD to emmc? From a prior CM install using CWM recovery or ROManager? Using SD recovery? It makes a difference in giving you advice.
