What did u have to do to get Bluetooth to work. I tried the nightly and got nothing on bluetooth

What I did was first turn on Bluetooth if search for device gets stock restart the device, second turn on your Bluetooth devices then go to setting Bluetooth and hit search for device ,if no devices fund turn off bluetooth and On ,weait for the search for device button to be ready ,tap the button to search an prey it work

if the device requires a PIN code when pairing, this firmware will not operate. since there is no way to enter a PIN code.

Bluetooth can disable wifi in cm11 nightly build rom

Thank you for your excellent work! I would like to report that the bluetooth in this version can disable wifi. I was trying to turn on and turn off bluetooth to search device and at some point, the wifi got disabled and can't be turned on. I had to reboot the HDX to restore wifi.

My device is kindle hdx 7 and I tried the nightly build 0330, 0507, 0509 and 0511. They seem to be the same to me.

Would you please take a look at this issue? I noticed that the nexus 2.0.5 rom and magic bean 1.0.1 rom both have good bluetooth function so I guess there is no problem in HDX 7's bluetooth hardware. Thank you so much!

Why should he continue here, a working cm 12 with lte and Bluetooth would be much better!?

Newer is not always better. KitKat (the basis for CM11) remains the predominant android fork and some apps/hacks work better with it. On HDX devices CM11 can be flashed without unlocking the bootloader; not so with CM12. It is my understanding the HDX variants of CM11 and CM12 are being advanced somewhat independently which suggests hardware compatibility characteristics may also vary.

Rest assured the developers (those who invest the time/talent and selflessly share their work with others) will make the call when it's time to stop work on CM11 or any other rom.

This has been reported before with no obvious resolution. And I doubt anyone will put much effort in given anything above 720p is a waste on either HDX variant given screen dimensions. I also believe casting is capped at 1080p - possibly lower.

Not sure what your saying but I know I see a difference in 1080p and 720p on this screen. I almost never use this tablet is why I've never caught this before. Another thing is I can't seem to update my cm to any nightly at all. Always just says failed in TWRP. Not sure why. I even tried factory resets and redownloading the original version to no avail

---------- Post added at 09:17 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:16 AM ----------

you can by editing the build.prop to Android 5.0.2

credit goes to hecbigcat

Thank you I'll try that tonight

Well - the optimal PPI debate is ongoing so I probably should have refrained from offering an opinion. And it obviously matters which HDX you have, usage (eg: gaming vs video vs text), lighting, rendering, conversion, AA and a host of other factors. Hopefully the workaround offered by another poster works for you.

Nighties have been problematic for some with issues ranging from failed installations to misbehaving devices (fortunately no bricks). Not sure what the issue is as I'm not an Android dev. General guidance has been to stay away from nightlies but I understand they sometimes bring new capability and resolve problems. Hopefully can be sorted in time.
