I was not able to update from OB31 without decryption problems. Then I completely wiped the device, flashed OB36 and flashed RR rom. Soon after that I flashed OB37 and got no problems. Used latest official TWRP.
I don't see this issue with eng.stk's TWRP. All recent versions of the OB are flashing and working right.Anybody tried reflashing TWRP after FW had broken decrytion ?
i.e. flashing OB36/37 and realizing that decryption was broken and therefore re-flashing TWRP via fastboot.
So:
re-flashing TWRP does not do the trick.
Research has revealed that the encryption has been changed with February updates, which would explain why OB31 has no issue with TWRP-3.2.1.
All OB-FWs after OB31 have the issue of not being decrypted by TWRP.
Only solutions I read about are
1) format data
2) wait for TWRP to hopefully release a new version
So that means formating /data too ?I was not able to update from OB31 without decryption problems. Then I completely wiped the device, ...
Yes I formatted everything. Did not even try any other possibilities. I just wanted to be sure everything goes smoothly (and I get rid of old stuff).Just flashed latest eng.stk's TWRP and that doesn't mount /data either.

I should have said that I continuously use eng.stk's TWRP and have not faced any issues. In your case, you flashed this TWRP after facing decryption difficulties. That may be the reason why it is not working ie. encryption/decryption already broken.Just flashed latest eng.stk's TWRP and that doesn't mount /data either.
For me, yes. Don't know about others. So, flashing the latest eng.stk's TWRP solves the encyption issue (if you do it before ir appears)?
I agree. I bought my op3 on july 2016. Its been 2 years. It just has minor dinks. Other than that its all perfect and smooth. Been running custom roms since the day i bought. Currently on nitrogen os and happy with the performance. I seriously liked oneplus's support for this deviceThey say OB39 will be the last open beta. It was a good run OnePlus, enjoyed every bit of it!
/Off: My 2 yr old OP3 non-T holds on so well that I will wait another year for the first 5G phones. Replaced the USB C port and the earpiece, battery still at around 60% total capacity but the display is all scratched up - didn't use protectionThis silver OP3 might be the first phone to endure me 3 years of abuse.
Same as you, bought in july 2016 and used custom roms from day one. Mine did suffer a pretty big kink in the metal near the volume button but it's covered by the case. This silver OP3 of mine even survived a fall from 3 meters on the corner, the screen just has scratches! Not to talk about the rain pouring into it twiceI agree. I bought my op3 on july 2016. Hmm, did you see the title of this thread?Until then, to be on the topic, waiting to update to the last ever OB firmware![]()

Sorry, I don't have an answer because oneplus doesn't communicate about the firmware update ...So, if I understood right, OB38 is the last firmware update while OB39 is just a minor ROM update to finish things off?
