Very soon. OK. Here's an ETA, by Friday the 2nd I should have all builds out.
Quick FYI. I've gone back to Albinoman's kernel for the time being as I kind of don't have time to fix up the 3.4 kernel properly.
I'll port over features and work on the 3.4 kernel at the same time, but for now the ROM just needs an update.
Maybe after that 4.3
Hi Dennis!

Thanks for the update and timeline. Appreciate it!

Just a question on the memory leak you mentioned before...will that be resolved? Just wondering. I know that a while ago Albinoman had the same problem with his ROM but able to fix it and now it's pretty stable so just wondering if you incorporated his findings.

Thanks again for all your hard work. I know you are hard at work with 3.4 but I think we can also appreciate the latest on the SlimBean as well.

Keep up the good work and thanks for thinking about us! :good:

Memory leaks will be gone too.
I'm running into more and more errors with build 7.X. Last error happens to be with the script that generates the ZIP package.
Fixing that now, so shouldn't be too long now for a test build and then something usable.

OK. I've basically built the ROM and rewrote the fstab to do so. There's a test build, but I've not tested it... Maybe one of you guys/girls can?

Apex update using update.zip?

Love this ROM and I want to update the Apex Launcher to my registered latest version - but somehow I cannot get it registered using my registration key. :(

This is what I've done so far:

1. Tried updating the Apex Launcher then entering my license key -> No error message and sadly enough the registration isn't saved.
2. Created a update.zip file with the latest Apex Launcher (signed one) where it replaces the ApexLauncher.apk in the system folder of my phone... Nothing changes keep getting the same version installed with this ROM.
3. Renamed the existing ApexLauncer.apk file in the system/app folder on my phone and copieed the latest version to the system/app folder and renamed it "ApexLauncher.apk". Rebooted the phone - still no changes ;-( the version of this ROM still get's loaded ...
4. Oh, I just tried another 'simple' installation from within my booted phone (like any other .apk) but the error I receive than is "Application not installed".

Things I could do:

1. Remove the ApexLauncher app using SlimSizer in the SlimCenter - but I do not have the gutts to do so.... Afraid I screw up everything (yes, yes, I do have a backup :) )
2. Create a good working update.zip with the correct registration key already entered - but I do not have the required knowledge to create such a advanced update.zip file - darn, I wish I paid more attention at school...

My Question?

How can I remove the existing Apex Launcher in the ROM and install the latest version using e.g. an update.zip file and without a full wipe of my phone and without multiple versions of the Launcher running in the phones memory?

Any help would be appreciated - and ofcourse, keep up the good work!

The easiest way to do it would be to download another launcher, I suggest Nova if you plan to delete it straight after (due to it's small size).
After another launcher is installed, delete all the application data from Apex (Settings > Apps > Apex > Clear data), then remove the APK using SlimSizer or manually delete the APK.
Reboot and install directly from the Play Store and enter your registration/license then remove Nova.

It's messy but it should work.

Dennis, I would be happy to test it, however I can't do it until this weekend as I need a reliable phone  (no offence intended, just a bit of an unknown till I flash it :D)to run my business, so after Friday, I will give it a go and report back to you.

Yayy! I helped! LOL! :victory:
Aren't you always helping? ;)
My Sensation needs to be reset before I can test it myself.
Here's where I am so far. Last bug (hopefully).
The fstab file from CM10.0 and ICS won't let the ROM compile with build 7 or 8. I updated it to match newer devices but nothing there. I might need to fiddle with it to make it work.

I'm glad you think so. I feel like I'm a nuisance most of the time...LOL!

Thanks for your continued work on this. Good luck and looking forward to your stable version. :highfive:

Thank you for the fast respons and the small tutorial. Why didn't I think of that solution?!? It works perfectly - my Apex Launcher get's registered correctly now. Only happy faces over here

custom ringtones

Somehow I keep on getting into stuff which isn't discussed on this topic yet :(

At this moment I'm struggeling with custom ringtones to get them displayed in the settings -> sound -> ringtone menu-list. I've tried every suggestion on any android forum how to set them correctly and created the correct paths for the notifications/ringtones. But nothing seems to work.

One time I saw only one custom ringtone appeared in the list - but placing all other (MP3) ringtones files in the same folder didn't do the trick. Rebooted my phone multiple times and even did a full wipe and reinstallation of this ROM. Nothing seems to work.

Currently I've placed the ringtones in the following location: /sdcard/media/audio/ringtones and the notifications are in this location: /sdcard/media/audio/notifications

Placing the MP3 files in the root of the phone: /media/audio/ringtones/ works perfectly - no matter what type of file is placed there. But ofcourse that solution is not the best one. If I could only use the sdcard for the storage and usage of my custom ringtones...

Anyone have any suggestion how to solve this one? Thanks.

Try placing the MP3/OGG tracks in /sdcard/Ringtones and /sdcard/Notifications.
Reboot and the tracks should be there.

Thanks!
First clear the application data. Then try the SlimSizer in Settings > SlimCentre. Find DashClock and delete. Then reboot and install again.
