Does Slim-pyramid-8.0.0-NIGHTLY-20130801-2037-DB.zip stable enough to be daily driver??
Doesn't boot. I've built a dozen builds yesterday and tested all of them. I didn't see any reason for adding those builds to the test builds folder because... you know, they don't work. As soon as I get a working build I'll let you guys know. Sorry.

sadly enough...

Try placing the MP3/OGG tracks in /sdcard/Ringtones and /sdcard/Notifications.
Reboot and the tracks should be there.
Well, tried that places as well and after several reboots still nothing.... ;-( Is there any way I can 'force' the phone to update any cache or read location to find the ringtones?

Otherwise I'll stick to placing the ones I want in the /system folder but that is not my first choice....

Thanks for all your help so far...

There should be a setting for MediaScanner in Settings. You may have to dig for it as I don't quite know where it's located. Also remember it will sort the MP3 tracks based on the MP3 file name (or so it has for me).

Found the option - it's under the developer section. Set it to manually ask on reboot but that didn't do the trick either.
Trying other solutions like reinstalling the mediaprodiver.apk. Also trying to remove n7 player which also works with the internal media database.
After that I'll "scandisk" the sdcard for errors.

Strange problem.....

Well, fixed it finally and in my defense; I'm blond.... Here's what I did:

1. checked the sd-card for errors on my laptop.
2. placed the sd-card back in my phone
3. went to settings -> apps -> all applications -> media storage
4. cleared all settings for the media storage
5. went to settings -> developer options -> launch tool -> mediaprovider and started a full scan. Also clicked the "add x albums".
6. now the list of custom ringtones is filled correctly!

So, like I said; I'm blond - the clear settings option should have been the first thing I should try...

Thanx for all your help!

maybe he is busy
just check his latest build on the server

This is a version without openPDroid and there are reasons for me why I don't use a smartphon without a private data protection like this. The openPDroit integration is the only reason for me to use this rom.

thanks anyway

Yo man, this is totally uncool. Unless you are paying him for his time, don't come across like some impatient ****. You don't know what's going on in his life. And remember, he's doing this as a hobby IN HIS SPARE TIME! Perhaps, he has a life, unlike you apparently.

Yes ALL of us have just waited patiently for the next upgrade. This is a fantastic ROM and we'd hate to see it go. But remember, Dennis is the dev and he chooses when to spend time on it. Not by anybody's schedule but his own...especially not yours! Heck if he one day decides to close this thread and no longer continue this, that's also his call. It would be sad, but again, he chooses what to do with this ROM and his time.

Please don't be this demanding to him or any other dev on thie forum. Besides being uncool, I'm sure it's frowned upon by the Moderators of XDA. Try to be a team player okay?

Thanks!

Last build I worked on and compiled was four days ago at worst. I'm having trouble staying active, and if I do manage to find time I can only build not test. If I test, I can't build so, yes. I am sorry but I don't have any other way. These builds can be dangerous since the SlimRoms team have made various edits and updates to support 4.3, and I would rather test them my self then help you brick your phone.

Thank you.
Last compiled build I have is dated August 6th, but yes. I was and still am a bit busy. I appreciate the waiting. I'll hopefully use Albinoman's latest commits to get a build out.

I'm really sorry but I don't have a choice in how things go from here. I either stop altogether or work when I can, and I don't want to stop at all. I'm hoping other AOSP developers might be able to fix numerous bugs and I can hopefully be allowed to use their work.

Paranoia...?! ;)
I thought I saw a bug. ;)

Thank you, but perhaps the solution to this sort of thing is less arguing, unless if arguing sorts it out which seems a bit strange.
I have been busy. I have to do a few things so that's been taking up a huge amount of time like interviews and such. I have been working when I can and it means that I can't always reply. Which I'm sorry for. I do have a lot going on and Android development is probably the best way to clear my head after I hit a road block with other things or need a break. I will be building and posting the first chance I get. Until then, assume I'm working on it.

Lesson(s) of the day: swear words are not sentence enhancers, no matter what Spongebob says. Ben10 is also a good cartoon.
