READ THIS FIRST POST COMPLETELY BEFORE FLASHING!!!

ATTENTION: There has been 3 reports including mine of a random probably device specific issue/bug, its the "windows mobile logo hangs and eternal soft resets issue" as i call it, this IS NOT A ROM RELATED BUG, this might or might not happen to you, nether me or hdubli can predict this, if it happens to you go back to ether your stock rom or hdublis 23506, we havent found any solution or even what causes it, bear with us guys were trying to track this down.

NEW RELEASE BETA 3 IS NOW ONLINE

This is beta 3 guys so enjoy, this rom was cooked to have a HTC HD2 feel to it, just try it, you wont be dissapointed.

HERE ARE THE FLASHING INSTRUCTIONS:
- Download 'ACER S200 Beta 3.rar'
- Extract 'ACER S200 Beta 3.rar' where-ever you choose(I prefer the Desktop)
- Navigate to '(wherever you extracted Acer S200 Beta 3.RAR)\ACER s200 beta 3\1. Flash'
- Double Click on 'ACER_EUU.exe'
- Click 'Next'
- Click 'Continue'
- Click 'Yes'
- Click 'OK'
- Completely power off your phone
- Once phone is powered off hold down the 'Camera' and 'Power' Buttons until LED indicator starts blinking
- Once LED indicator on the front of the phone is blinking click 'OK' on your computer
- Wait until 'ACER_EUU.exe' says 'Finished'(It should take 15-25 minutes)
- Once it is done flashing, hold 'Power' button on phone until it vibrates

After you have set up your device copy the .cabs that are in '(wherever you extracted Acer S200 Beta 3.RAR)\ACER s200 beta 3\2. CABs' to your device and install them in the following order:
1. Fixsms.cab
(Restart)
2. valkyrie leo.sms.client1.43.cab
(Restart)
3. E-natives showcasesuite
(Restart)
4. Easykeyboard.cab
5. Improve sound.cab
(Restart)
6. 1_percent_battery.cab
(Restart)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's it! You're done!

Fixed stuff so far:
1.Htc messeging works.
2.Email works.
3. Phone canvas position fixed(thanks to a roomcooker over at the diamond 2 thread)
4.Light sensor works
5.New startup animation and sound.
6. Added half working htc album(has some graphic issues and its always in landscape mode)

Bugs so far:
1.Battery % is 100% always, just tap on it and htc notification will show the true battery lvl.


BETA 3 FLASHING TOOLS DOWNLOAD LINK(remember to use the partition.mbn from the beta 3 7z file)

Use this extrom.bin(placed inside the flashing tools folder and replace with old one.

Here it is guys finally the first BETA1 is online, download and report any bugs you might find, soon il be changing the pictures in the thread and posting some position fixes for the rom, so keep on checking the thread/

Manila position fix is attached, thank amarullz for this great taskmanager and manila position fix.

How to change backgrounds to still or animated:

1.Install any kind of reg editor.
2.Go here HKCU\software\htc\manila
3.In that registry look for a string that says "AnimatedBackgroundPath", click on it and its going to show a path "Windows\AnimatedWallpaperPath\" here add any of the animated wallpapers located in "windows\Animated Wallpapers".
4.Same thing for still WVGA wallpapers.
5.Then disable and Enable manila.

BUGs in this first BETA 1:
1.Album is still not working, this will get fix on the BETA 2 release.
2.Music and Pictures tab are still not rotating, this will also be fix on the BETA 2 release.

1.Download the rom
2.Open it using winrar or 7zip
3.Extract the files to a new folder
4.Look for a file named "version.txt" and change what it says for "2.eTouch.01_EN" withough the quotes.
5.Execute ACER_EUU.exe
6.Follow the onscreen instructions

NOTE:The rom dosnt look like that, that how it looks on my device with the stuff i installed after flashing, if anything goes wrong with the rom, flash back to 23506 or a stock rom.

Special thanks to...Hdubli hes is the most important person in the development of our custom roms, give him all the thanks, withough him this would have not been possible..

Can't wait. This is the one I've been waiting for. How far along are you?

I kind of agree with JMFC too. Unless you can at least turn those buttons off. I still haven't played with WM 6.5 too much.

Also, I have been wondering if you could adapt the tf3d bar to go to other programs than what htc has used. IF you like a different music player or photo viewer for instance. My main uses are the programs tab, the internet tab, and the weather tab. Home and contacts being obvious as well.

I think this can be done by some registry changes, il have to look into that but im pretty sure it can be done, il let you know as soon as i find them.

Bluetooth performance wont improve unless Acer them selfs update there bluetooth drivers, we'll have to wait for an official update from acer them selfs, btw im not having problems with bluetooth what so ever.

Who had the stupid idea of those ugly buttons. Main reason for not flased Hdubli's rom are those. And I definetely like them on top.
If I had the option to revert to 21857 rom I would proceed (even not the original).
But you are my heroes guys. Keep on.

OIC~
If My S200 connected the handfree and standby for about half hour
the bluetooth handfree will have lag,echo.
I have tried to connect the handfree to my little mobile Samsung M-628.
Everything work fine...

You could say so, i pointed him to the right OEM packages that were needed, and so he manage to make it work 98%, there are still some bugs like SMS arnt working, mails cant be open and so on, but im looking it into these problems to fix them, so no worrys, il keep you guys update, unless hdubli fixes them before me xD.

skinning later may be the easiest thing to do, although I do hope they have a very thin bar for the bottom bar that fits wvga better. I don't like how it interferes with tf3d's slide bar. But really I just can't wait to get this up and running.

Also, I still need a layman's breakdown of backing up my current stock ROM. I read some of what hdubli already put out, but if it is possible to simplify it, it would be a great help.

And when this 2.5 ROM is finished, I'd love for a very simple step by step to flash it properly. I think flashing is probably easier on the f1 than it was on the f900, since I don't believed they figured out how to flash from a sdcard. But I have only done it about 3 times so far, and want to make sure I've got it down before I screw it up.

Thanks again for all the work, and I can't wait!

Actually, after reading more into how to backup a rom, by dumping and reconstructing, this doesn't seem to be the thing for me to attempt. I don't seem to be able to find any programs/utilities that will handle this as well. SO................

Would any of the experiencenced people here be so kind as to actually reconstruct and make a factory rom for the Acer s200 available? I am too old to learn too many new tricks, and while I am a capable dabbleler, I am by no means capable of being a professional. So knowing my limits, I can only stand on the street and ask for help.


By the way, if you need the stock rom to reconstruct, and can tell me how to dump it on my device, I would be happy to send it to you.
