The boot.img that I attached is the stock unrooted (unpatched) image. In order to get root, first you need to patch it. To do so, copy that boot.img to your phone, install Magisk app, choose Install and browse to that boot.img. Magisk will patch and create a new patched boot.img in Download folder. Copy that patched one to your PC. Reboot your phone to bootloader mode. Temporarily boot the newly patched image by the command fastboot boot <your_patched_boot.img>. Once your phone boots up, open Magisk app again, choose Install and then choose Direct Install. This way, Magisk will now grant you permanent root and keep a backup of original boot.img tol.I cannot see direct install with boot the image. install, can you give me an instruction about how to use that file?
Does anyone have stock boot.img for OnePlus 9 na C-66 . Had issues with 13.1 and used msm tool went all the way back to A11 . Stopped at C66 and factory reset because of some issues and forgot all about backed up boot.img in magisk. Now wanna update .![]()
He doesn't need to use MSM Tool if he temporarily boots the given image by the command fastboot boot boot.img , instead of flashing. Worst case scenario would be his phone would not boot and will bring back to bootloader mode.. He can then simply reboot and things would be the way they were before. Nothing would be flashed and nothing would change. You might want to give the EU C.65 a crack (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ock-patched-boot-images.4288727/post-87611251) . The guy who posted (#94 - https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ock-patched-boot-images.4288727/post-87673545) said the EU C.65 boot.img also worked for C.66. An there is a slim chance this might also work for NA C.66.
Worst case is you might need to use MSM Tool again.
Anyone has LE2115 Global F.18 boot.img? I want to try doing the MSM readback but want a copy of F.18 boot.img just in case I stuff up.
LE2115 Global F.18 stock boot.img attached....and @Z-Blade, there's no way to stuff up, the only thing that can happen is missing the EDL window which you can totally avoid just by tapping on ReadBack Mode before pluggin in the phone in EDL mode. Enjoy.
