The BLU can't power any usb key or any other kind of device it's micro-usb port. You need to use a OTG cable connected to a powered source to make the BLU see anything.
You can find online some Y OTG Cable made for this, to power the external device.

dirty flashed via internal sd card (lopestrom twrp) from ColtonDRG v12 to modified 6.6 with no issues. was having in call volume problem in v12 and so far everything working perfect in modified 6.6. might do clean flash if I find some time to reinstall apps. thanks vampirefo!

Any news on this device? Apparently Amazon has killed it off less than 6 months after it was released. Never seen such a short shelf life out of a smartphone. Now I'm just wondering what will happen with its support and updates. Overall, I'm just relieved that it was "just" a ~75 dollar investment (phone case and taxes). I purchased because I hoped Amazon would back it for a least a year or two with software updates. Now that I saw what they did, I'm pretty disgusted with their practices.
With the exception of the kernel locking all four cores (no offline mode) on all 4 cores and the poor earpiece and speaker. There's really nothing majorly wrong with the device IMHO.

Do you need a unlocked bootloader to flash this ROM? I currently have TWRP installed and running Tomgst ROM with Ads and Update removed.

I am uploading rom now, you can test when it's uploaded.

Modified_rom_R1HD_7.4.2.zip is now available, link is on OP.
Thank you so much for everything you have done.
Just wanted to ask to the uploader and anyone who has tested it, are there any bugs or any new features besides the ones listed in the change-logs? I am about to do a clean flash of the 7.4.2 on to my StockV12 ROM and wanted to know if there was anything else about the ROM that I didn't know about.

Thanks vampirefo, installing now.

UPDATE: Working great. Seems a bit more responsive too.

I have a question though, why did you leave the updater enabled in this modified version?

Yes, the 7.4.2 seems to respond better, and for me LTE is a little better, I use straight talk.

Several people requested for me to leave update enabled, I can make a zip via twrp to disabled for those that want.

To disable it manually delete /system/app/AdupsFota/AdupsFoto.apk

Thank you vampirefo, I agree it is a bit snappier.

How can I swap the back and recents keys on the navbar? I have GravityBox but it only seems to be able to affect the size not the button layout. This was an option in settings in V12.
I don't know, never used Gravity Box.
