What's CAF?
CAF stands for Code Aurora Forum. It's a fork of AOSP which is well optimized for Qualcomm Snapdragon platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to plain AOSP. In addition to the opensource CAF android base, these builds also use Qualcomm's proprietary Android 11 Board Support Package (BSP) for Snapdragon 665, to ensure maximum compatibility and functionality with Android 11. It can also be called an engineered ROM, as it's built from pure CAF sources and BSP in the same way OEMs do.

CAF system version: LA.QSSI.11.0.r1-07000-qssi.0
CAF vendor version: LA.UM.9.11.r1-02100-NICOBAR.0
Security patch: November 2020
Build status: Stable | Enforcing | User | release-keys

Features on top of pure CAF 11
Merged november security patch and AOSP 11.0_r15 tag
Theming support - accents, fonts, icon packs from pixel 5

Disabled unlock animations

Blur tweaked and enabled by default
Improved scrolling responsiveness
Faster screenshot capture and dismissal
Mini panel for wifi and NFC
QS Panel rows/columns customisation
Auto 3x3 QS panel when media player is hidden
Bluetooth battery level on statusbar
Advanced reboot options
Tweaked statusbar icon paddings
Battery light toggle (ginkgo only)
Dedicated battery saver extended to kernel-level
Removed screen recorder audio restrictions
Double tap to sleep on lockscreen
Xiaomi Parts - dirac, clear speaker
Vulkan as default UI renderer
ART and bionic optimizations
Cleaned up useless CAF apps
Permissions hub
MicroG support
Misc fixes & stability improvements

The NTFS file system is not recognized by the system because I believe it lacks the implementation for the support, magisk has no bearing on the operation. Through OTG I had no problems with the fat32, later I will do a test with exFAT

I'm getting an error when trying to scan the QR code to open whatsapp web, 'can't start camera, please restart your phone´. Any advice? I´ve followed all the steps twice, uninstalled whatsapp, cleared cache of the camera app etc, no luck yet. Thanks

You need to edit build.prop from /vendor/build.prop and erase "com.whatsapp" from forcehal1 or something like that.

Be careful editing that file, might lead to boot loop if done wrongly

    FAQs
    Q: Is MiuiCamera included?
A: No, the MiuiCamera from android 10 doesn't work in 11, so a fresh port from Mi A3 is required whenever android 11 is released for it.

Q: What's the 4 or 5 number beside the wifi icon?
A: It's a CAF feature which shows the 802.11 generation number. 4 stands for 802.11n, 5 stands for AC, 6 for AX and so on.

Q: Does the main rear camera have yellow tint? This bug was there in AOSP 11.
A: No, it has been fixed.

Q: How to get weather in at a glance widget? It just shows me the date
A: There's a quite simple trick for this, just add another instance of at a glance widget manually onto another home screen. The one on the main home screen gets refreshed automatically!

Q: This ROM is laggy! Expected more since its CAF.
A: Most importantly, let the ROM settle after its booted, janks will eventually disappear. In my testing I've faced no lags at all except in the first 10 mins after booting. Do keep in mind that this is an initial A11 release, both from CAF and my side. The kernel used (QSv2) is also in its early stages as it's entirely rebased on android 11 kernel source.

Q: Next update when? ETA PL0X
A: Updates will be dropped as soon as CAF releases a new android 11 tag for our chipset (trinket) or when there's a new security patch available. Please do not spam XDA or telegram for ETAs.

Hey guys, these days I'm busy with personal life and also development on Poco X3 (new device which i purchased around 2 months ago). And on top of that, I'm no longer getting snapdragon 665 BSPs from my sources anymore. Hence I'll be discontinuing this ROM. Thanks to everyone who supported me in this project and tested my builds. Incase someone's still on this ROM, I'll suggest you to move to Paranoid Android Ruby, it's also based on CAF and it's quite stable.

    Cheers.
