If you are dirty flashing you shouldnt need to reflash gapps.
I have been dirty flashing from the 1st builds without issue, no reflashing gapps.
Personally I flash new build in twrp, along with superuser and has worked well for me.

i have no idea why you quoted me , lol i use micro g fresh flashed man , i was asking the dev can i use opengapps in this build if i want to

No. microg replaces gapps. It doesn't work if you flash gapps. Also certain google apps like play games, google+, hangouts won't work without google play services, so don't try it.

If you want those apps, don't use microg. Treat the update as a normal one and dirty flash.

Thanks to @zeomal and @1chrome. I liked microg very much but I am too dependent on google so I reverted back by clean flashing latest build + nano gapps. Anyway this the most magnificent rom for our device even if there is no microg. I am grateful to @Silesh.Nair for his time and effort for this rom. Like 1chrome said, this rom should have a unique name, wallpapers and boot animation of its own and unofficial should be removed from the title and shall be mentioned as lineage based (Just my opinion).
Once I get a name and direction from Silesh, I plan to make a properly conceptualised and themed wallpaper set and bootanination for the ROM. In the last 2 years of flashing, no ROM has impressed me this much. The ROM kills it on every dept for me atleast.

Hi All

Device: xt1622 UK

Just did a clean flash of the latest with MicroG to give it a go.... it all installed OK .... then tried to install gmail and add google email account and complained about it already existing on the device... (seen mentioned before).. so i thought i'd do a reset to see if that helped... however on reset my device become stuck in "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008" mode... after a little panic (Not too sure why, might be because i was connected to PC when doing a reboot)..
i managed to get back into the standard bootloader/TWRP by holding power and vol-down for over a minute (make sure you are not plugged into a PC as that seemed to keep it in QDLoader mode..)

Note, when i did the reboot, i had it connected to a PC.... not too sure if that caused it do go into QDLoader mode????.,... I've now restored to previous version for now....

Not saying latest version and/or microG somehow caused this, but just incase...

Hello.

1. microG worked with previous ROM builds, so I'm not sure why it shouldn't work with latest without clean install. (and as I guessed, it works).
2. Please, I'd like to see, what code you put into your unofficial build, so I'd like "officially" ask you for releasing all LOS modifications (talking about framework-res.apk etc.). For my good feeling & maybe making some reproducible build.

3. I'd like to thank you this discussion, which brought me to LUCKYPATCHER. In first place, as longtime user of microG, I care about my privacy. I care about software I use, which information about my is published and shared over the internet. I don't like ADS and I'll never agree to anyone, who will support annoying people with Ads. My option to avoid ADS is just blocking all ads servers (thank you AdAway), but sadly, in one application Ads bar takes place. Thanks this discussion and found LuckyPatches which did great job (just deleted empty Ads area)..

I want to say - it's YOUR rom @Silesh.Nair . , and you can do whatever you want with it (as licence allows you), but be aware, that these "funny things" you do, have no impact on people (maybe except disgust) who will want use this software, except some noobs who can't avoid your checks. You bringing politics into nice piece of free software.... :(

Before you'll comment how you judge me as a pirate, search internet little bit about my open-source projects...

David

P.S. If you want prepared microG ZIP, maybe ping @ale5000 [ https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/microg-unofficial-installer-t3432360 ]

Oooo. So excited for this! Would love to see some beautiful custom material goodness for this! And yeah the clean-ness of this rom reminds me of the prime days of Paranoid Android on my Nexus 5.

At first I flashed this with microg option and everything went well. Flashed Busybox, Supersu and Tibu with no problems and could restore all my apps (only WhatsApp that I didn't restore but installed the app downloaded from Apkmirror as Silesh instructed). All was working good such as Email app with my gmail account and everything. The only weirdist was that SuperSU app disappeared from the drawer and settings but that didn't interfere with it since root was granted properly.

After that I made a twrp backup and clean flashed the build with opengapps, then did the same drill as prior and again no problems at all. No weirdist this time. Everything running good and properly.

To sum up, first I want to ask: Can I return to microg setup just restoring the twrp backup? And at last I want to say that this is the most stable Rom for the Moto G Plus. At least for my xt1640 it works smoothly and without any hiccups, reboots, FCs etc whatsoever. With this I am obliged to take my hat to you, sir @Silesh.Nair. Thank you very much!
Ps: I don't use lp.

Sent from my Motorola Moto G4 Plus using XDA Labs

(Yes, I already searched.)

Besides theming, are there any additional features not mentioned in the OP that aren't available in the official Lineage Rom?

I would like to hide annoying album art from the lock screen.

Thanks!

Lineage OS OMS has you covered (under Settings>Additional Features)

As for additional features not mentioned, (just off the top of my head) - I'm sure there's some I've forgotten!
Optimised kernel based on MM (battery/performance improvements)
Source built RIL (for better battery life)
VoLTE icon
(Not sure about whether the official build has this) Kernel has ElementalX commits (so EX Kernel Manager support built in)
EDIT - oh yeah, how did I forget about built in root (rather than having to flash the su.zip)

I've always found this ROM very stable and use it on a daily basis. There's also an amazing dev behind this ROM, thanks Silesh :D

Thanks! One more quick question, I've searched and I'm confused, do I need to flash supersu or something else if I want root? For official Lineage, they say to install 'addonsu-arm-signed.zip" of you want root. I see in post#5 root was included, but that was 5 months ago...

Thanks again to you all, and especially rahulsnair.

This rom has built in root, however you can flash superuser in twrp if you prefer that.

InvictaOS is based on LineageOS with some cool extra features. It can be used without any need to have Google application's installed.

    Banner_S.png

    4.15 is the final build

    Code:
    /*
     * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
     * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
     * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
     * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
     * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
     */

Keep these is mind before you flash

Please read the help thread before you point out issues here. It has been created specifically to help new users to adapt to custom roms easier. Before you post your issue, please check if it has already been reported and if a fix has already been mentioned.

When you post a bug or mention an issue, it is assumed that you are running no additional mods that could cause that bug/issue. If you have made any additional changes, you need to mention that when you mention the bug/issue, else it confuses all users and I waste time looking to a bug that doesn't even exist. (1,2,3) is a classic example of this.

I have given in to frequent complaints of volume being too low on this rom and have restored it to the values found in other roms. That said, I will be in no way responsible if you hurt your ears as a result of the high volume. You have been warned.

Plus users take note. You need to be running an N modem to fix fingerprint issues.

Reliance Jio users, take note. Jio needs mobile data to work. If you change mobile data to a different sim in a dual sim environment, Jio sim will deactivate itself. Its not a bug.

Use Cameringo or builtin snap camera to record video. Video recording with Moto camera doesn't work. HTC camera seems to work the best.

    Additional Features

    1. Status Bar date
    2. Network Traffic Indicators
    3. Double Tap to sleep on lockscreen
    4. Ambient display battery indicator
    5. Additional QS Tiles
    6. Superuser indicator toggle
    7. Lockscreen charging information
    8. Bluetooth easy toggle
    9. Wifi easy toggle
    10. Toggle to disable suggestions & tile summaries
    11. Unlink notification volume
    12. Pixel navigation bar and animation
    13. Full Substratum OMS theme support
    14. Alarm blocker
    15. Wakelock blocker
    16. Selinux Switch
    17. and more....

    Installation procedure

From stock / other custom roms
    1. Plus users have to be on N modem. For models that can't flash N modem, you will have issues with fingerprint registration.
    2. Copy the ROM zip on your phone
    3. Reboot in TWRP Recovery mode
    4. Backup your phone!
    5. Format/Wipe system, cache, dalvik, data
    6. Flash/Install ROM
    7. Flash/Install Gapps of your choice ( smallest package recommended )
    8. Reboot

    Upgrade from previous build
    1. Download the update via OTA app.
    2. Reboot in TWRP Recovery mode
    3. Format/Wipe only cache, dalvik
    4. Flash/Install ROM
    5. Flash/Install Gapps of your choice ( smallest package recommended ). This step is not a must.
    6. Reboot

Note that the screenshots seen above are not the default look of the ROM. It comes with Pixel UI by default. Screenshots are using Coalfield substratum theme and Retrorika icon pack.

    Updates

You will be notified via the OTA app when there is an update.

    Known issues

    1. App restore using hypershell in Titanium backup doesn't work. Data restore works. Works from v4.14.

    Reporting Bugs

You are allowed to report bugs only in this thread.
    1. Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    2. If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
    3. If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. The following is a useful format to follow.

    Code:
    What is your--
    Radio (baseband):
    ROM version:
    Gapps version:

    Did you--
    wipe:
    restore with titanium backup:
    reboot after having the issue:

    Are you using--
    a task killer:
    a non-stock kernel:
    LOSSettings/Performance settings (other than stock):
    Dual SIM:
    other modifications:

Provide any additional information (observations/frequency of problem/last version it worked on/etc) as needed:

    Custom Splash Screen

If you need a custom splash screen with Invicta logo, check this post. Thanks to
    @1chrome for the initiative.

    Useful information

    1. Some users have reported that they are unable to share screenshots/images from the gallery or filemanager. Though I personally have not come across this issue, if you do have this issue, have a look here for a possible fix.
    2. Please make sure that your DPI under Settings->Display->Display Size is set to default, else motorola camera doesn't seem to work. Users of model xt1622 who have reported camera issues also check if you have made any changes to your dpi. Thanks to @zeomal for pointing this out.
    3. For app sharing applications like xender, shareit etc.. to work, you need to disable mobile data. Check this post.

    O update

First step towards getting InvictaO is done. Compiled a lineage-15.0 build.

Next is to see if it boots, it not get it to boot, then bug fixes and finally adding back all Invicta features. Lot's of work ahead.
    63
    An update on O.

I have finished all the base work for the ROM. I can add features when required.

I can now concentrate on fixing the device side. Except camera and a couple of FC's(Bluetooth only the first time you boot and MotoActions when you receive calls because of a proximity sensor issue), its performs OK.
    63
    Update on InvictaO

    Step 2 done.

Most of the important stuff still doesn't work like RIL, data, gps, camera & fps. Audio, video playback, fm, sensors, bluetooth, vibrator & wifi (partially) are working. Moto actions works too.

I will post a build when the major stuff starts working which is still a long way off. Screenshots attached.
    61
    And we have camera working.....

    First official build soon.... :good:
