[Discontinued] [ROM][OFFICIAL] LineageOS 16.0 - Xiaomi Mi 8

I had this problem a time in the recent past and no other solution than format data...
since that, I never use the updater and I do this steps to update:
* download the ROM from official site
* restart into recovery
* flash magisk uninstaller
* flash ROM, OpenGapps (Nano in my case), Magisk (>=20.0)
* reboot normal

Thank you very much. I will look into it and avoid using the inbuild updater as well.

Instead of flashing Magisk Uninstaller you may simply wipe system.

I have been dirty flashing rom updates like this in several devices, for years, with not one problem.

When you wipe system you get rid of the rom backup/restore addon.d scripts that usually do more harm than good.

Regressed to 0303 without any problem.

Updated from March 6 to March 9 without any issue.

Sometimes I had a strange behavior on this ROM...
* I lock the device powering off the screen (I have set un inmediate lock after screen off at settings)
* I put the device into the pants pocket.
* After a while I take the device from the pants pocket and the device is unlocked.
This only occurs sometimes but is very annoying.
Anyone has this issue? How to solve?

managed to solve by flashing latest miui, booting it and then flashed lineage os 17.1. thanks

I just updated to the latest LOS 16 version and also seeing SafetyNet CTS failing with Magisk installled.

Are you using a PIE Firm?
If you previously on MIUI 11 with Android 10 you must flash a Android 9 firm.
I'm on 9.6.27 (last global beta firm) and is working finest.

On lineage 16 you need to use a pie firmware, latest Miui firmware is for Q

Yesterday I had a very strange issue...
I'm playing with Android settings (theme and accent color) and I have suffered a FC. After that, I've rebooted my device and, after, BT and WiFi was disabled, PIN from the 2 SIMs unlocks the phone but no Mobile data and each 20-30 seconds the statusbar icons for mobile coverage dissapeared...
I have tried to remove cache and dalvik from recovery but no luck. Also tried to remote data from Android settings but no luck.
Only a device wipe (no format data) was solved the issue.
Do you know what's the problem and how solve it without wipe?

You can use stable on Pie as well.

Seems similar to the problem I had, only thing I didn't though of doing a factory reset while on lineage I did it on miui

Funny that you ask me this today. No, it does not work... to my great regret. This is the only IMS-based Service that does not work with my dipper device and my mobile provider. Pls read my post here on that topic:

I hope @infrag has an idea what we could do to make VoWifi work on our devices. I have a really bad mobile connection at home and would urgently need that great feature.

There must be a way to enable it without root an put the needed config into the rom install file.

I'm in a somewhat similar position in that I need VoWiFi because of poor signal in my office. Did you ever figure out how to get it working on LOS 16? I have WiFi calling enabled in settings and I know provider supports it as SIM card in a different phone can make VoWiFi calls. As best can tell its not enabled/supported in LOS build. See screen capture from Network Cell Info Lite.
