Clean flash ROM Austin build 03 May.
flash pico gapps.
flash magisk 19.1.
Many compliments this ROM works very well.
There are no problems to access WiFi and surf the internet,
I used to say also as a navigator with a bluetooth GPS.
I also installed xposed to better customize the rom.
What to say ... I can best compliment the developer.
One question. you can enable the management of WiFi at 5gz and not just the 2.4gz one, the solution proposed in another discussion, that of replacing the WiFi file does not seem to work, is not important and just a curiosity.
thanks a lot for the wonderful job.

Hi. I'm currently running ford-standalone20180602 and noticed the updating instructions in the Op has changed for this version. (flashfire no longer used?) How exactly do I update to this version? Do I have to install TWRP, and use that to flash the Rom, gapps? Or can i use flashfire to flash everything like I used to?

I just want to be sure so I dont brick my device. Thanks for any assistance.

Only the new unlock method is supported. The new release requires an unlocked bootloader.

Which G apps do I need to install? I setup to flash the rom and also the pico gapps from here (https://opengapps.org/, using x86_64, 5.1, pico.... open_gapps-x86_64-5.1-pico-20190507.zip) and it just complains about it already being installed? I used the 3rd of May download for the rom, and performed a wipe of everything as part of the install.

Any ideas?

Edit\:

Figured it out... I downloaded the x86_64, and I really just needed the Arm only version (not arm64). All good.

Pico Gapps, that could be the reason? AOS kb on this ROM features swipe in setting then I assume it should work despite gapps
Nexus core derives some functionality from GApps. Early builds (on a different amazon device) wouldn't function/navigate correctly w/o a minimal GApps package. This ROM is obviously capable of running w/o GApps by design but some extended functionality may be depreciated. I typically go with Nano; can't comment on the Pico experience.

thankful

First of all thank you so much for your continued support for this ROM, its really appreciated and I've been using it for years!

Today I saw the new update and was really afraid I couldn't use it when i saw the new requirements to have an unlocked bootloader (I was on 5.3.1.0 when I checked). Just by luck I saw there's a actually a way now to unlock it no matter what version you are stuck on (maybe add this to the first post?)
Anyway so I got to work, thankfully I saw this VM post so I didn't have to setup an actual ubuntu install, an hour later I have your latest ROM, TWRP, latest OpenGApps Nano and root via Magisk and that all on a device I got for 30euro at the time.
Amazing work, will post here if I run into any issues with the new update.

I'm on the previous version on this ROM and have a few questions before I upgrade.

1) Can I use FlashFire or do I have to install via TWRP? - if I need TWRP, which version should i use and how do i flash it?
2) Since I'm already on previous version, are there any other steps I need to be aware of? E.g. Unlock bootloader again?

Sorry for the above questions as I've not been following closely on the development of this device and am glad it's still being worked on! ?

Unlocked bootloader only releases from now on. DON'T dare flash if you haven't unlocked your tablet's bootloader (there's a thread for that procedure, look around). If reluctant to unlock the bootloader, stick with 2018 releases. If you already unlocked your bootloader then you already have the latest TWRP to flash this ROM and that negates the need for Flashfire. Since lots of stuff changed in the transition, I recommend a clean flash.

    Information + Features
    - Pure AOSP Experience
    - Also ideal for customisation through Xposed

    - EVEN MORE IMPORTANT: As of January 2019 this ROM only works on devices using the bootloader hack. See <<< HERE >>> to unlock your devices.

    - IMPORTANT: Do not update Magisk via the Magisk Manager App, your device will enter a bootloop if you do. Instead update Magisk via TWRP only. If you do this by accident then it is recoverable by just flashing the latest version of the ROM again (with gapps etc as required).

    Progress for Next version

    - I'm working on an update which should fix up the previous borked release.
    - This ROM relies on gapps been included to work correctly so will not be releasing without it
    - I've fixed a bug in one of the last security updates I back-ported. Google services using the latest gapps now seems stable.
    - I wanted to check over a few more things and do some testing before release.
    - Hopefully should be done within the next couple of days.
