- Dated 07 Feb 2016
- Change log on Post #2
- installed over CM-12.1 per OP using FlashFire 0.27
- no need to add SuperSU and GAaps
- initial boot ~3 min (adult ADHD sufferers should take meds first)
- updated SuperSU binaries per OP
- runs perfectly; pure AOSP experience; yum!
- boots notably faster than CM 12-1

Amazing ROM

The post title says it all. Really a fantastic work, my sincere compliments @ggow.

I installed this morning's release coming from CM12.1 using fastboot, after a full wipe including /system. Everything went smoothly (as expected) and all my Titanium backups restored without issues (and yes, the first boot is quite a looong experience).

Just a side note for people wanting to try this ROM: it comes with just the minimum apps needed to boot, the nano gapps and superSU. Nothing else, no camera, no gallery, no calendar, no terminal, no file manager, no contacts, no video or audio players, nothing. You can choose to customize it just the way you want with your favorite apps. Love it!

Bye bye CM!

Still Location Problems

I like this ROM a lot, but it still has location problems. This makes it difficult to use maps, and weather apps. Some apps think the locations services is off when it is on. If it helps, this isn't a problem with the SlimLP ROM. Thanks again @ggow for your work.

Really the only blemish on this wonderful rom - but a big one for some. Same issue on JB/KK builds (different device). Location services are fine in CM. Strange.

Keyboard swiping doesn't work using Italian language even if the dictionary is installed and the option is enabled in config.

Thoughts on 21060207:
- despite many wonderful attributes (including nicer default fonts) returned to CM for location support
- noted some minor rotation issues (graphics) that will likely be resolved in future builds
- replacing Nexus with CM via TWRP restore left default android boot animation with no ability to change (locked/permissions)
- dirty flashing latest CM build with FlashFire 0.27 per OP yielded CM logo hang on first boot, proper CM boot and cache rebuild after a hard restart then a return to default boot logo (word Android with no other graphics) on subsequent restarts. Strange.
- logo itself is not an issue as CM runs fine otherwise but does suggest leftovers from Nexus install that should not have persisted after TWRP restore
- Will try clean flash via TWRP and (if needed) restoring 5.0.1 bootloader later today

- From TWRP just wipe the system partition before re-installing CM
- I am working on a fix for the location services bug

- From TWRP just wipe the system partition before re-installing CM
- I am working on a fix for the location services bug
- neglected to mention that I performed a 'factory reset' in TWRP before restoring CM image (cache/dalvik/data; not system)
- subsequently wiping only the system partition and reflashing CM in TWRP resolved boot issue (as expected)
- I intentionally skipped initial system wipe to see what would happen with TWRP restore; logo was a surprise
- learning: full TWRP restore can leave remnants; pre-wipe still needed when switching roms (flash or restore)

Edit: Spoke to soon; default android boot logo as back after second reboot and can not be replaced (locked/permissions). So a full system wipe did not remove all Nexus remnants. Will probably leave it for now; see if others encounter the same issue. I only have a minimum app suite installed; virtually nothing executes on boot. Only started after flashing/removing Nexus rom.

Seems to be a problem with swiping in general, I'll try to fix for the next release.
Check Google Keyboard is it's nearly identical to AOSP in appearance/feature/functionality. If it fixes swiping might consider including in base image as a 'core' element.

Hi, great rom, very very light and fast, but how can i replace "launcher3" with the default google now launcher? maybe with flashfire?

- Install an older version Google Now Launcher from apkmirror
- Then update from Google Play Store once you have gone thorough the setup and made it your default
- The newer versions are not allowing our devices to set it as default for some reason

- I would prefer fixing the AOSP keyboard because personally it over Google Keyboard :)

- AOSP Keyboard Swype Fixed
- Will be in next release
I was able to resolve the boot animation issue by manually tweaking permissions on bootanimation.zip and then re-associating with CM theme manager. This may be (likely is) a CM change introduced in a recent build. The trip through Nexus may have served to expose the issue rather than create it. Good to have a solution as other frequent rom swappers will likely run into it. A complete wipe followed by fresh CM install and then restoration of backup also works but isn't ideal.

    Information + Features
    - Pure AOSP Experience
    - Also ideal for customisation through Xposed

    - EVEN MORE IMPORTANT: As of January 2019 this ROM only works on devices using the bootloader hack. See <<< HERE >>> to unlock your devices.

    - IMPORTANT: Do not update Magisk via the Magisk Manager App, your device will enter a bootloop if you do. Instead update Magisk via TWRP only. If you do this by accident then it is recoverable by just flashing the latest version of the ROM again (with gapps etc as required).

    Progress for Next version

    - I'm working on an update which should fix up the previous borked release.
    - This ROM relies on gapps been included to work correctly so will not be releasing without it
    - I've fixed a bug in one of the last security updates I back-ported. Google services using the latest gapps now seems stable.
    - I wanted to check over a few more things and do some testing before release.
    - Hopefully should be done within the next couple of days.
