  • Nearly done! Migration cleanup is mostly done. There are a small number of issues left that we continue to work on, but all the heavy lifting is done. XenonHD ROM for Motorola Moto G4 Play (harpia)
http://www.xenonhd.com/

XenonHD is a custom firmware aka ROM for various Android devices. It is based on CyanogenMod 14.1 with additional features, performance and battery life improvements.

The idea behind XenonHD is to give users a ROM that is "blazing fast, rock stable and buttery smooth".

Device Source:
https://github.com/msm8916

Flashing Instructions:

To install this ROM you will need to have a latest TWRP

  1. Copy the downloaded ROM to your phone.
  2. Boot into your recovery
  3. Back up your ROM
  4. Make a full wipe (system, data, cache, dalvik)
  5. Install the ROM
  6. Install Gapps package
  7. Reboot - the first boot can take up to 5 minutes

Main features:
XenonOTA (doesn't work because this is unofficial)
XenonHD Changelog
NovaLauncher and Kernel Adiutor
Root, adb, dev options, advanced reboot & installing apks enabled by default
Under the hood improvements and optimizations
...and more on the way!

Bugs:
Same as CM14.1

Ever since CM 14.1 got the bugs almost completely fixed, development has took off. I have a feeling it will be on a good increase of development. I'm on RR currently as well and I want to give the rest a try but I tend to hold off for at least a week or two before I decide to give something else a try. Hopefully MIUI makes it to our device too soon!

MiUI might be quite tougher but will definitely give it a try after the regular ROMs are sorted out

I've been one to love MIUI after MIUI 6 came out. I had a Xioami Mi4 but broke it, led me to buy the G Play. I've been tossing around the idea of setting up my desktop and attempt to port over MIUI 8/9 to our device. I don't have experience building but I have ported one thing that kind of worked back in my Desire Z days.
